Screen shots from the App Store

I might suggest selling the app for free for the first 500 or 1,000 downloads

    Get reviews and feedback

    Then increase the price...

I typically will not pay for an app without feedback from a friend or a top rating.

Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

OP, in the app description, I'd place heavy emphasis that the app will save you time/money/ammo by helping you practice more effectively.

Also, you should add additional value in future updates. My suggestion is adding various pistol target drills and a basic shot timer/counter to support it. If the data (time/scoring) was recorded it would be an incredibly useful practice tool.

      Best of luck.

/\ Agreed. It's pretty common for an initial rollout to have a lower price. It doesn't help that the one review it does have reads like an inside job

I didn't see any tips that I couldn't get for free all over the internet in the screenshots given. Like the one about "angular shift" which is just a fancy name for misaligned sights. Not taking away from the creators credentials... maybe thats enough to impress noobs but you are gonna have to show something with more meat to get me to spend $6.

Would you waste your time developing and supporting your program for $0.40 per install?

Ad supported likely wont net much money either as you're generating a few cents per user.

I'd rather have the $6 pay once, lifetime license, free updates model instead of trading my personal info and seeing lame ads whenever it's used, or the $1 app that doesn't get bug fixes, updates, or new features.
Trust me I inow, my friend is an app developer and I spoke with him about a few apps. It's a hard market.

But like hero posted, from the screen shots, it's common knowlege/Google info data. It's not revolutionary. For $5.99 there are several MAJOR apps with A LOT of features and limited general info.

Copy and pasting pistol shooting 101 and throwing it into an app is hardly worth $5.99 per download.

Even their long range ballistic apps hardly bring in $3.99.. Their free versions have limited downloads as well with the free avalible web sites with a lot more info avalible.

I'm not bashing, in just saying $5.99 is a hard app to sell. Espcially again with a general shot plotter. Just trying to help give feedback for a shooter and a pro shooting app.

He made the hard step of making it, now he needs to sell it. From someone who also looked heavily into it. I don't see it happening. The app market is flooded and hard now.

There may indeed be some gold in there, but I'm not paying $6 to find out and don't think most people will.

And seriously, how helpful do you think clicking where your hits are on a target vs having a real instructor WATCH you shoot.

Again, maybe its in there. But the screenshots don't impress.

So have you purchased this app yet? Please do and let us know what you think about it. Maybe you can be the first one to submit a review so us cheapskates have something to go off when trying to justify a $6 app.

Calling people cheap while encouraging them to buy the app? That will work.

Your FIL needs a new marketing guy.

Ah you don't even have a means of purchasing the app yet you call everyone cheap for not wanting to spend $6. Perhaps you can shut your mouth until you you take your own advice and purchase it yourself. I hope you don't have any interest in this company because you have inspired me not to purchase it now or in the future. I'll take my $6 and go to Carl's Jr. Thanks for the idea.

I know you mean well, but do your FIL a favor and stop promoting his app in a way that will turn people off. To you $6 may not be a lot, maybe you have a ton of expensive apps who knows. It's a lot of money to spend on one app that has not been tested and reviewed by people other than those involved. While your FIL maybe a firearms expert and a great trainer, the real thing vs an app are two different things. All that info can be found online free.

I think I can speak for many on here, it's not just the price of the app it's the fact that it's new, there will be technical glitches and there are no reviews. Also, you have uninvolved keyboard commandos chiming in when they don't have the means to access the app and try it themselves. As you know, Calguns is the largest pro 2a firearms enthusiasts forum in CA. The last thing you want to do is negatively promote this app. Just my .02, take it for what it's worth.
