Do you remember the title of the thread?
The search function here is difficult.

Is their a way to use switches on the search function?

Seemed to be about a $125 premium over the 5.56mm versions.

Oh, and they had no .50 Beowulf for this show in case you were wondering. Uppers OR ammo.

Also seemed to be a shortage of various kinds of quality milsurp C&Rs; No FN49s, no K31s, only a few Enfields here and there, plus everyone with a CMP 1903, Garand, or M1 seemed to want to get +$500 on top of what they got it for through ODCMP. Bah.

I showed up Fri about 2pm, did a quick run through to see who I would buy a 7.62 upper from and see what great deal I could cut on Saturday. Didn't see the DPMS booth, didn't see some of the usual AR vendors and those there didn't seem to be over supplied - none had a even a single 7.62 upper.

I found one fellow about 1 hr later, one of those odds & ends AR sellers, he had one DPMS 16" upper with Phantom FH & bought it straight away. As I was forking over the $$$ another fellow picked it up and asked "how much?". Glad I wasn't too particular about the speed limit on the way up, it was the only one I saw all weekend.

No 7.76 DPMS type mags anywhere though.

That place was a mad house on Saturday. Super crowded and most people having at least 500 rounds of ammo in hand....

Is that right? $150 for 800rds of XM193? Sounds like a real good deal, especially right now. The cheapest I have seen was $340 for 1K but that was right after the election.
Oops, Sorry about the confusion, the XM193s are $75/200rd and I bought 400rds. My bad

I went to the Reno gun show on Friday with a couple of friends. I have never been to a gun show before and neither had they so we had fun looking around. We browsed the first room, the one directly behind the ticket booth first. We looked around for a couple of hours then grabbed a bite to eat. We were a little disappointed because there were not a lot of black rifles as we thought there would be. Well, the second room had more black stuff. There was gun dealer at the far corner that had a "True Value" sign on the wall with the workers wearing shirts that had "SRT" written on them. I found the rifle that I wanted and told the dealer that I wanted to purchase the rifle. He asked were I was from and I told him California. He said that the rifle was illegal in California. I told the guy that I was going to use an out of state FFL for the transfer. I told him that already had the same rifle at home (California legal) and he immediately stated that I did not have it legally. He said he could not transfer the rifle to an out of California dealer because I was from California. As I was going to explain to him that the out of state dealer was going to make it California legal then transfer it to my dealer in California, the guy freaked out and said that I was committing a crime by telling him that I wanted to use an out of state dealer. He went on to say that the ATF was walking around looking for people having these types of conversations and arresting them. He said he could lose his license, his business and everything if he got caught doing this. I knew the dude was freaking out and would not listen to anything so I walked away. I went to another dealer who listened to what I had to say about what I was going to do and he totally understood. I purchased 2 rifles from this dealer and so did my two friends. We ended up spending a little over $2000 from this guy. I guess listening a little gets you a lot more business than being ignorant. Did anyone else have a bad experience with an out of state dealer?

See the problem is there are a LOT of CA resident there, who try to do shady stuff. I was watching a guy and his GF playing with rifles, and they asked how much. The dealer told them, and they said we will take it. Then the dealer said "OK I need to see your NV ID now please" and the CA guy was all "ummmm...well....umm.... we are form CA"

Then the dealer had to lecturer them on how he cannot sell to them...

To them, you're just a plain old sappy idiot, and probably a lib'rul who smokes salvia while driving.

Were they wearing matching Niner shirts?

I walked by one fellow who asked the SOG guy if he had any "bullet buttons" for sale - I really can't describe the look on the salesman's face, sort of a mix of confusion and surprise.

Lots left....of .223/5.56 and 7.62. Tables were semi bare.

You just had to look harder.

I like to keep a low profile. I know what can and cannot buy.

If a vendor is uncomfortable about the sale, just move on. No need to make a fuss and give them more reasons why not to deal with us Californians. I can't blame them. I'd hate to loose the right to continue with my livelyhood and put food on my table for my familly. Suspected FUD or not.
