A friend who heard I was heading to Reno told me to check this place out. he said its supposed to make Cabelas look small:

What laws apply if purchasing a gun in Nevada and living here? not looking for EXACT detail, but a quick answer..

If you are into bolt action rifle and over under shotguns, then it's okay.. Mainly all hunting rifles. Cabelas has a better selection.

I am going up Saturday, and coming home Sunday. I plan on staying in Carson City and visiting some family there. Plan to OC the whole time, and while in the show haveing a gun the the glove box. Loaded!! Awesome..

You have to transfer it through a CA FFL and go through the same paperwork, 10-day wait, etc. The seller in NV ships it to your FFL. You won't be able to buy CA-evil stuff, as again it has to go through that FFL. Only reason to buy a gun in Nevada is if it's a good deal that will still outweigh whatever your FFL's fee is.

The alternative to all this is dual-residency, which is beyond the scope of either your question or my answer.

What the Reno show is good for: gun parts, scopes, ammo, rifle cases, tshirts, and the fact that it's massive. Actual guns are going to be priced fairly similarly to what you'd find in CA, in which case you're not getting any deal.

I had a chance to drop by Scheels's the last time I was in Reno...it's a must see. Lots of high end stuff (Cooper's, JP Enterprise, etc). Also, most of the rifles and shotguns are on racks that you go over to and handle.

Off of Exit 20 just past the 395 interchange.

As far as the Reno show, I'm trying to squeeze it in...maybe a one dayer thing.
