    Mailbox etc type service

So I'm going to look for a service whether at the USPS or Mailboxes Etc, UPS store, FEDEX, etc that I can have gun parts (and maybe even ammo) mailed there. I'm not loyal to any one service and have stuff from vendors sent USPS, UPS and FEDEX. Anyone know how receptive any of these carriers are to delivering to the "competition". I mean, if I get a UPS store box will USPS or FEDEX deliver there? I can kind of see having a USPS box being a problem for UPS and FEDEX.

Check to see which one will receive ammo.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

UPS store will receive Fedex. You can't send from them. That's what they told me.

Thanks, researched it a little bit.

1). UPS store near me is a full service shop but pricey.

2). Fedex store near me does not have "boxes for rent" but they will accept packages sent via Fedex if I do a "package hold" . I'll have to verify w/ Fedex corporate.

            3). PO Box blows!

4). Mailbox Plus, mom and pop shop that is full service and very reasonably priced. Only problem is their hours (M-F 10 - 5). Tight, but doable.

As for the ammo, it's going to be "Don't ask, don't tell".

Except some shippers put stickers on the boxes or the box itself is imprinted by the manufacturer. So your scheme may not last long.

That's provided they know what it means. The symbol is pretty non-descriptive. Most of these places are run by college students just doing a job. But yes, we'll see. Might have to do a small order as a trial run.

What I have done in the past is use UPS and sign up for UPS My Choice to have packages held at the UPS store of my choice. I had many AK parts kits sent there among other things to prevent issues with leaving items on a porch as well and have the package waiting at the most convenient location depending on my schedule that week.

No PO boxes or anything of that matter.

When I was traveling a lot, I got a virtual address through a company that would sign for whatever came in, and then forward it to me via UPS. It worked really well - but was a bit expensive. I think it was $19 a month for the address, and then the price of forwarding mail and packages to me was about double the standard UPS rate.

I don't know if they still exist, but check out Earth Class Mail. They had a great system where I'd get an email that something came in, and then I could access their online interface where I could have them scan and create a PDF of any mail I got, and then have it sent wherever I wanted. With packages, they'd tell you who it was from, how heavy it was, and give you some shipping options.

I have a UPS Store po box at a location close to my office. I can either pick up my packages during my lunch break or after work, no need to rush home before they close. I get email notifications when my packages arrive.

As far as ammo, the packages will be marked with a hazardous sticker. If you order ammo by the case, like 1000 rounds, their is a good chance they will just ship your ammo is the same box as the original manufacturer and put a shipping label on it. I recently order 7.62x39 and their was no mistaking I ordered 1080 rounds of FMJ lead core ammo lol. Plus the boxes are heavy, so most people won't be fooled. If you order 400 rounds of this, 200 rounds of that and another 200 of something else, they will probably box it up in a plain box and just stick a hazard label on it. If you want to be discreete, that might be your best bet. As far as the UPS Store I use, I have ordered a lot of ammo over the last 2 years and they have never given me an issue. YMMV

I use a UPS Store to receive gun parts, ammunition, and guns returned from repairs. To ship a gun, I needed to go to a service center, though. I receive all types of mail (USPS, FEDEX, DHL, etc) there.

Yep, you order a case of ammo and sometimes the box has "Winchester" or "Remington" printed on the box also stating caliber, bullet weight, how many rounds, etc.

I have a non-branded mailbox place and it is great to not sweat packages left in the driveway or at the door.

They like reusing boxes and packing, so I only take what's in the box home.
