Here's a policy suggestion:
Non-CalGuns transfer fee: $150 (reduced to $xx with the purchase of $100 in accessories/supplies at the time of DROS).
That way, you discourage being a transfer processor unless the customer is actually going to give you some business. Sends a MUCH better message. My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.Comment

B-f'n hoo.
Do your research and vote with your feet and wallet. People are in business to make money, not to provide free services for the convenience of others.
I wouldn't pay $150 for a transfer. I'd find a cheaper option. And I'd sure as hell talk to the source before attacking them here. Funny how a simple call to the guys at Bullseye would have cleared this up without the drama of a long thread full of sand filled lady bits."There are no outdoor sports as graceful as throwing stones at a dictatorship." I think that some people will call you because they're used to bad service and/or policies from other vendors (not you) such as this one from a popular site that is listing an item as being in stock:Potential customers who don't read the website and have to send an e-mail to check if the "add to cart" means it is in stock and the "out of stock" means it is not are squirrels. Potential customers who read the website, add the items to their cart, and then submit their order are no longer potential customers.
People nowadays are just so used to bad service that they call anyway; and half of the time when they call they get bad information.Do not add to cart, until you complete the following.
BEFORE ADDING FIREARMS TO SHOPPING CART:
1. Please read the "How To Buy" Section of the web site so you are familiar with payment options , policy's etc.
2. Before ordering please contact us to confirm that the item is in stock, due to ever changing inventory levels we do not update this on our web site and if you place a order and you did not confirm availability their will be a $30.00 cancellation fee.
It may take 1 -2 days for us to return emails & phone calls.

Whoa! I thought you were implying that was from tenpercent's website. It appears, according to Google, that little gem is a policy of AtlanticFirearms.Do not add to cart, until you complete the following.

Times are changing and it is sad to see how this whole Obamanation is affecting and dividing gun owners for the worst.
$150 per lower is just plain insane. Thank you to the OP for sharing this info with other people so that they do not make the mistake of going there to get a gun/rifle shipped there. We need more threads like this so that people will not get taken advantage of.
Sad days we are living in.Originally posted by tankermanI think most folks bubba their AR's because they watch too many action movies, play too many video games and don't understand how to socialize properly, so they fantasize about being 'action hero's'. Kind of like little girls playing dress-up.Originally posted by Douglas711Is everybody stocking up on guys now? Just curious some gun prices seem to be getting high.Comment

Well that would have been entirely reasonable to expect that as a first option, wouldn't it? Gawd, I love the internet.
And by the way, there's an awful lot of brick and mortar FFLs who charge that kind of a transfer fee on firearms from internet sites and out-of-state shops. Look around. Something tells me your gonna feel stupid when you find that to be exactly the case. Roger's Relics, who I also recommend highly, is an entirely different story altogether.
Had you come aboard and asked, you might have saved yourself the escalated blood pressure apparent in your original post and a respected local shop from having to defend their rep over an otherwise generally accepted pricing practice.

There's all sorts of accepted retail policies that were only accepted because retailers adopted a "me too" attitude. Prior to six months ago, $150 was NOT the common transfer fee.
The Internet is actually a great tool for situations like this. It shines a big, bright light. Sometimes that causes the policy to change, and sometimes it doesn't. But dissemination of knowledge is definitely a positive thing in a free market. My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.Comment
