    Market Place bumps

I look at the Marketplace a lot for good deals (which are few and far between at times....but that's another thread).

The thing that annoys the heck out of me are the guys that will post something then bump it every day for MONTHS. If you want $5000 for your slightly used Chinese SKS....that's your right to post it...but seriously if you have bumped it everyday for 4 months straight and no one has responded or made an offer....please please please.....just take it down....you clogging up bandwidth.

    Mods....any insights?

The best part is the transparently false "keep the offers coming".

        I like when they say:
"Reduced to sell" and only mark it down a tiny bit!
"The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke speech of 23 April 1770, "Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents," delivered to the House of Commons.

Or the constant price drop bumps and the same price as day one as if nobody has seen the add. When you can see how many times it has been viewed.

Man, lotta threads complaining about posting habits in the marketplace lately.

Which is weird for me because I wouldn't think of browsing the threads. If I want to buy a PSL, I do a search on "PSL", and all I see are PSL sales. I couldn't care less about all the threads selling overpriced ARs, etc.

i just bumped my ad for shotguns iv been trying to sell...

i don't want my ad covered by a bunch of all my other guns and never to be found by the one buyer that wants them..

especially when its a unique gun that only appeal to a specific buyer... maybe they haven't seen it yet... maybe they don't have the money for it yet...

regardless, if its at the lowest possible price i want to ell it for, and i need to sell it, I'm going to utilize every avenue i can to help get it sold... even if it s a bump every day for months ... my views keep going up so obviously not everyone had seen it!!!

In a forum where we want less 2A regulations, you guys sure do want more marketplace rules...

Bumped my POF for a month. Put it on Gun Broker for 200.00 more and sold it. Go figure. I went to ship it and the FFL wanted me to cancel the sale and he said he would give me a 100.00 more.

Just saying. Sometimes members here think someone is off on the price. But they are wrong.

Yup. People that complain about the nanny state then act like a bunch of nannies.

Fundimental misunderstanding of what is being said.

I reserve my God given right to complain about anything that bothers me in any way.

It will be a cold day in hell before I ask some authority to do something about it.

I've bumped stuff for a few weeks and then all of a sudden finally a buyer will come out of the blue and buy it, whats wrong with that? If you were selling something, I bet you would bump it daily too because you thought your price was fair while others may not think the same. No one has to lower their own price just because someone else thinks they should. To another buyer, it may be the price they are willing to pay and just haven't seen the thread yet.

A fairly priced and easily transacted sale almost always closes within hours of posting. When you ask retail prices for used firearms or accessories then make it difficult to transact with no shipping or restricted meeting will always cause a thread t be bumped many times.

I try to bump before peak viewing times and at the most twice a week to gain the most eyeballs.

Weekend bumps and mid week evening seem to garner the most views and eliminate the need for daily bumps.
