No one has to lower their own price just because someone else thinks they should. To another buyer, it may be the price they are willing to pay and just haven't seen the thread yet.
Not really...personally I will bump a new item for a day or two....if no one is interested, I lower the price, repeat.

If a few weeks goes by and nothing....I will either:

    1) remove item
    2) drastically lower the price (if I am motivated to sell)
    3) make up stories about my $5000 SKS being carried by Elvis on his clandestine mission to Cambodia to free the polar bears being held by the Kymer Rouge back in 1990.

Doesn't work for me, as I don't know what I will buy sometimes....I cruise the Marketplace and usually if something catches my eye, then I will look at the prices and go from there. Rarely will I know I will buy a "PSL" and stick with that....that involves intense focus and I rarely have the ....oh look butterflies....

          EXACTLY....................

I think the rules for the market place are very good all things considering.

Yes, some items are insanely silly prices, but otherwise it's like gunbroker.com where you see minutes left on an auction and ZERO bids.

I would prefer ZERO bumps. Post item for sale, update the post when the item is no longer for sale or has been sold.

Everyone simply use the search function, and the success of the search will be based on how well the seller described the item.

Good thing I didn't listen to this thread. I would be out like 500.00. One month and I got asking.

              This.

              Bump.

Not in a hurry to sell. This custom opinion goes back into the safe in 2 minutes.

only thing that irritates me are the titles...no standards...or at least no one follows them.

The marketplace works if you know exactly what you want. Its hard to casually browse however. I really like the Curio Relic sales section because people link to their sale in the main marketplace. It really cuts through the clutter.
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

I notice there's an unspoken agreement that most people seem to have where they'll delete the price that they sold their gun for once it's gone/sold/etc. Makes it a bit annoying when you're looking for past deals to judge a current one by. (Gunbroker history isn't limited to CA sales so I can't use that as my guide.)

Eh, the Marketplace could be improved in at least a few ways in general. But it definitely works as it is.
