I agree with with having many employees and have all be great at every aspect of the job . That's just not going to happen . You'll always have the guys that are just there for the pay check .

Now I've had a good experience in each of those store at one time or another but that was once and with a certain employee . On the whole If I can I will go other places .

Turners has been by far a better store then any of the above as far as what I've experienced .

For me and the OP what gun stores in the city of San Diego have you never had ANY issue with . I'd like to give them a try , Really no snarkyness here .

Try Empowered Firearms in Vista. They don't stock a lot of accessories, but their customer service is great.

I've had dozens of positive experiences at turners over the years.

this is the issue with Turners. it isnt your local mom-and-pop LGS where they have 2 employees and everyone is trained to the same level and the buck stops with one person. Turners has something like 15+ stores, is going to have multiple managers at each store. companywide, that's probably 100+ employees. I don't expect each one of those employees to have the same level of training, personality

yes, buy something without any issues is a positive transaction. I've even had purchases where I was in and out the door to start DROS within 15 minutes. pickup was around 10 minutes IIRC. I don't go to Turner's expecting a Nordstrom's experience. I know what I want, I go in and get it.

my longest transaction was when I needed to purchase a C&R handgun with my 03FFL+COE. since that is not "normal" for them, it took longer to process. was I upset, no, I knew that it would be an issue wanting to "cash&carry" a firearm from them. the manager spent time on the phone with corporate and we got it taken care of. I had to help them a bit on what was and wasn't require in that scenario;no handgun safety card needed, no handgun safety demo needed, no handgun lock needed (safe affidavit), etc. we got it all taken care of and I walked right out the door with my C&R handgun after not too long a wait.

I agree, i would not be upset simply due to a little delay, especially if it were an unusual transaction. let me just say that I really try to make my relationship with a store etc... a positive one. I really do give the benefit of the doubt to the seller. Having said that, Turners is definitely, noticeably and inferior retailer. I have been to Turners many times, by many I mean at least 50. I have never once left without it being a pain in the "A". From incorrectly price marked merchandise, to bait and switch, to misinformation, to slow service. They are without a doubt at the bottom in terms of being a good store. I wish it weren't true, but it is. I really want to shop there, as it would be convenient for me, but every time I try it, it is not convenient at all. Also, not that this should have anything to do with it, but I have gone in there a few times to look at a revolver, and some young kid salesman with a silly smirk on his face spins the cylinder and flicks it into place. it just bothers me.

You know , I think I have to agree with you about them sending a gun to another store when its a special one day sale . Maybe they should do something like giving the other store/customer first chance the next day as long as the other customer is there first thing to buy the gun .

In my case and that 1911 . I had to work late that day and did not get to the store until 7:30 ( 30 min before they closed ) I Figured they would be sold out . How ever this turned out to be one of many good experiences I've had with them . The sales guy called six different stores over a 20min period to secure me the gun I've been wanting . Then to top it off my truck took a dump and I had to rebuild the engine . That set me back a good bit of cash and I was not able to pay the gun off in the time they require . I went in and asked to speak to a manager . I said I was willing to cancel the order and put what I already had on the gun towards another firearm I could pay for right then . The Manager asked when did I think I could pay off the 1911 . I told him It could take another 2 months before I had all the cash . He said no problem I'll put on your paper work you will be taking a little longer and that you will DROS on a specific date .

That was very cool of them . They did not have to do that . It may have been I got the right guy or he looked in the computer a could see how many firearms I buy from them . I'm not sure what it was but I'm very happy with how that whole transaction went .

I don't think I've heard one positive story about Turners.

I know people don't usually go out of their way to share a good experience unless it was over-the-top good but...

I have several, matter of fact I just put a 92FS in jail today, 32 days after I put a 357 mag in jail. I also have a few not so good ones but they worked out. I have bought many of my firearms at Turner's, they always seem to have the lowest prices compared to the other gun stores in my area. I have always been treated well.

One time I tried to PPT a draco at one of their stores and when I showed up they said they couldn't do it, I contacted corporate and someone sent me an email that said they would, I printed it out took it to the store they said no again and I showed them the email and they went and got a manager who said "Of course we do PPT's for those, no problem".

The other time I bought a .300WSM from Turner's and then took it back to have a scoped mounted that my grandfather had sent me, the guy mounted it backwards, I took it back and the whole store had a good laugh and someone fixed it for me and sighted it in perfect.

Other than that (and those are not really bad in my book), I enjoy shopping there. I will note that I only have shopped at the Rancho, Chino Hills and San Bernardino stores.

I frequent the Turners in Torrance and find the staff to be both friendly and helpful. I've purchased a handgun there before and it went fine. I think the DROS is $30 though, which is kind of BS but whatever.
Also, I recently just put a down payment on the Anderson lower (they requested $50) at that location.

That's awesome. Like i said, i want there to be positive feedback. Hope to hear more positive things about them.

Which has nothing to do with Turner 's and everything to do with the laws the people of Reseda enacted.

When the Reseda store opened 40 years ago, you could by anything and walk out with it. LA is a gun free zone. Supported by the residents that elected those that banned them.

Which was my point exactly. Your "Not available in Reseda" dig at Turner's has NOTHING to do with Turner's.

If not too crowded and I don't have to wait 45 minutes, I'll shop at DAS, Parallax, or ASC. A lot of my money goes to PWG while I have my membership and get the discount, but I liked them better when they were smaller.

Had a young kid (18ish) shooting next to me not long ago on BLM bragging how he worked at the Orange turners.

Had an AR with no mag lock, 30 round mags. Said His grandpa gave it to him so it was "grandfathered in" to use no mag lock and 30 rounders...Yeaaa ok.

These are the types they hire.

I picked up my first handgun on Monday (SA XD 9mm) from Turner's Chino Hills and I gotta say it was a far more pleasant experience than I ever thought it would be. I am a noob and I was going in hoping I wouldn't be humiliated for my lack of knowledge. The place was busy but no one was waiting in line. Ashley helped me and was not only very patient but helpful in the extreme. She showed me the Glock 17 and 19, the Sig 2022 and a few other 9mm's. She talked to me about the benefits and possible drawbacks of the various handguns. She made my first experience VERY positive.

I went back a few days later to take a second look. Ashley was busy but John helped me out. Again the place was kind of busy but John talked to me about both guns I was considering and even added the SA XD to the mix. Both John and Ashley talked to me further about my choices. Based significantly on their guidance, I decided on the XD 9mm 4" that was on sale. Unfortunately they were out of stock but they offered me an excellent discount on the 5" tactical, so I bit.

I felt very intimidated walking in and both times, the Turner's CH folks made me feel welcomed. Nothing but praise here.

OTOH, I went in to Ammo Bros Ontario over the weekend. I was in there for 30 min+ and I was this invisible man. Small place, I wandered up and down every aisle and perused each gun case and no employee ever acknowledged my existence. Nothing unfriendly but nothing welcoming. Bad, cold vibe. I won't be back.

After so many negative posts about Turners, why would anyone in their right mind go and patronize that establishment regardless of enticing sale prices; knowing that there is high rate of frustration, that when they will walk away they will be unhappy.

Purchasing a firearm should be a orgasmic occasion, not foreplay without release that is what Turners consistently delivers so why go back to only receive a dry hump; let common sense lead the way there so so many alternative solutions to purchasing a firearm, don't get me wrong they are great for purchasing gun cleaning supplies well maybe not again you have the net
There is NO need to place yourself that environment only to be sharing your anger with all CG's DUDE don't go back forget about them.
