    Lol turners....

Had a young kid (18ish) shooting next to me not long ago on BLM bragging how he worked at the Orange turners.

Had an AR with no mag lock, 30 round mags. Said His grandpa gave it to him so it was "grandfathered in" to use no mag lock and 30 rounders...Yeaaa ok.

These are the types they hire.

Attitude, long waits, having to show ID and sign for ammo since it is in city of LA, only allowed to PPT one handgun a month since it is in the city of LA, and much more!

Which has nothing to do with Turner 's and everything to do with the laws the people of Reseda enacted.

Yup, that Turners is "my turners" even though there's now one in east county. I've done lots of business with them. No complaints from me - always a positive experience, even if I'm just browsing.

Anyone see the pattern ? Customer service is inconsistent. I've had both positive and negative experiences. I've seen both excellent and poor customer service. Customer service is translated from the top through initial and ongoing training, communication, and supervision of all employees. I grew up in a family business. My father taught me to accept our employees were going to make mistakes-they're human. But "make it right" when it impacted customer service. No excuses. No stories. No B.S.

                  Wow

How do people deal with life when a simple issue sends them spinning
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Well it may not be a simple issue for all people. For some, gun purchases are a big deal after all guns are expensive and require thought and time and legalities to purchase. Some poem save a long time to buy a gun. For others like me buying a gun is about as exciting as buying a gallon of milk but because I do it so often I get to see the good and the bad much more than the average calgunner.

amen. What I didn't like was the counter person being a dick. I can deal with the mistake. But being a dick on top of telling me I can't use a gift card to buy a firearm and telling me I need to put more money down then what the item cost was BS. I talked to another turners mgr and was told the store in question was wrong in what they told.

You need to pay attention then. I've made more than one. Most recent was a quick & painless PPT at the Corona store. The one I made a few years ago mentioning the cute girls at the Kearny Mesa store went pretty well...

I know people don't usually go out of their way to share a good experience unless it was over-the-top good but...
I've had dozens of positive experiences at turners over the years.

this is the issue with Turners. it isnt your local mom-and-pop LGS where they have 2 employees and everyone is trained to the same level and the buck stops with one person. Turners has something like 15+ stores, is going to have multiple managers at each store. companywide, that's probably 100+ employees. I don't expect each one of those employees to have the same level of training, personality

I agree with with having many employees and have all be great at every aspect of the job . That's just not going to happen . You'll always have the guys that are just there for the pay check .

I personally have not found a good IMO LGS ,

Fine firearms in la mesa , lats just say I'm not a fan of the owner .

Discount gun mart , to much attitude an ego

Southern Cal gun . Not been there much since they re-opened but they were worse then Discount

El Cajan gun exchange . nuf said

Now I've had a good experience in each of those store at one time or another but that was once and with a certain employee . On the whole If I can I will go other places .

Turners has been by far a better store then any of the above as far as what I've experienced .

For me and the OP what gun stores in the city of San Diego have you never had ANY issue with . I'd like to give them a try , Really no snarkyness here .
                            Tolerate
allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of (something that one does not necessarily like or agree with) without interference.

Anyone else find it sad that those who preach tolerance CAN'T allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of (something that they do not necessarily like or agree with) without interference.

I write almost everything in a jovial manner regardless of content . If that's not how you took it please try again

if DROS is down, people can't pickup their guns either.

I agree, Also Turners employees don't make a commission, even if you pull a number nothing is preventing you from waiting for the employee you want & have good experience with to help you out.

Just ask to talk with someone in a black shirt . Red shirts are newer employees . No they don't always stock ittems because some stores may sell 100 and another only 10 . That could cause a lot of unneeded shipping from store to store . They just ship them once when and to the store that sold them .

I can't tell you how many times I've bought something at the store and they did not have one on hand . I rarely buy something with out looking at it or handling it . Those stripped lowers PSA , Del-ton , Anderson are all the same . Hell when it comes to those cheap lowers I have the guys show me the serial #'s in the computer and thats how I pick them . You're not taking it home that day so don't sweat it .

The 1911 I just bought was sight unseen . Now that's not to say I had never handled one at the store . I had been looking at the gun for about a year . They had a big Wed only sale and my local store was out of the 1911 . They checked around and had another store send there's .
Needless shipping? I went to Turners to buy the Sig P238 they had on sale (only 10 per store). I went the same day they went on sale. I called to make sure they still had some. When I got there, after the usual forever wait, i was told they had 2 left but they are shipping them to another store. The guy said "sorry, I promised them to another store" I walked out thinking WTF, what is the point of having a limit per store if they are going to ship them back and forth, and isn't that wrong? The point of a limit is to spread the deal all over the customer base. I also noticed they had more in stock just a couple of days later, at the regular price of course. I got the feeling I was baited and switched. The salesman tried to sell me something else.
