I'd prefer to shoot steel but paper is okay too if you can make it fun.

When I go to Los Altos and it isn't that busy (or somewhat busy), I like to get on the 100 closest to the 50 yard range. I set up 2-3 human silhouette targets on the 100 yard range and 2-3 human silhouette targets on the 50 yard line. I shoot my AR or AK or SKS switching from 50 to 100 yards.

It's pretty fun because it mixes things up. When I do this I never shoot while sitting and benched. It's either on my knees, prone, standing, bent over the bench with elbows on the table, squatting, kneeling with my rifle on top of a seat, or on my knees leaning against the hollowblocks underneath the table.

I'll shoot around 200 + rounds. All I care about is that my rounds are combat effective hits (chest or head). I'll only be there maybe 4 cease fires max.

I've oft thought the same thing, but 15 years later - still no signs. Someone's been cleaning up parts of it though - there have been old cars (likely GTA), dead farm animals, 55 gallon drums of unknown substances, oil, etc. out there over the years and they end up disappearing and being replaced with other things.

I save our Alpo cans, & lately I've been making a poor man's plate rack by driving two survey stakes in the ground, setting a 2x4 across them, and setting up the dog food cans on the 2x4. This is my wife's favorite. If possible, I set it on a hill so when she knocks them off with the 795 they roll and I can try to get 'em on the move with the 15-22. Really fun shooting gallery stuff, and basically free targets.

AR500 plates, golf balls, bowling pins, just got one of the self repairing rubber tophat things, pretty cool.

Cardboard bad guys for up close, but I much prefer reactive targets.

Too many hobbies, Too little time.

            Mind you, I'm 5'7", 180, with a visible Ab...
