Anyone else warm up with .22s at the range?

No but I do worm up with 20 gauge before shooting 12 gauge (for trap).

Since I usually only shoot handguns no I don't even bring my .22s half the time, unless I'm going to a rimfire match, then my Ruger 22/45 Target comes out. Any other time I bring my sister or cousin out to shoot, the girls like only the .22s, 9mm, and the 20 gauge. So if I have them with me then yes I do warm up with .22s with either the Ruger or my Walther P22.

I start and end with .22lr.

My son starts with his scoped Crickett under the wife's supervision while I set up our table and get the ammo, guns, and targets set up. It takes me about 30 minutes and he is shooting in a different area while I set up.
I just started letting him shoot a pistol so he then takes my M&P22 with a Silencerco Spectre II and shoots some spinners and water bottles for 5 or so mags.
Then he shoots his full auto AR15 with 50round BDM drums with the Spectre II
Then he sits while the wife shoots a bit of .22, 9mm, and 556 out of the AR as I set up the full auto M1919. After a function check I run a 200 round belt then check it again. By that time a crown has usually gathered around us so we get some mags with tracers and I shoot full mags of 9mm tracers out the AR15 while the wife and kid shoot 4-1 belts out of the 1919 just sweeping the hill from left to right and back.
When the show is over the wife and kid go back to his Crickett while I clean up and put everything back in the truck.
We go through about 1,000 22's, 2-300 9mm, 2-300 556, and 6-800 308 per session if we are only going for full auto fun. If we are out for practice we use a lot less ammo and don't bring any .22s.

.22lr is cheap even at the panic prices above $.08/round. I've got Piney Mountain .22lr tracers that are over $.35/rd. Now that stuff is rarely used.

Tried it, never found a benefit. Tend to practice with whatever my next competition calls for. Lots of drills.
Find a lot more benefit in dry firing.

i start with a w german Sig Sauer P225 and end with the same P225.

shoot a few hundred rounds of 22 to begin every range session. i get a kick out of carving out the center of a target.

.22 bores me to death. I can't tolerate shooting more than 50 rounds or so. Usually finish with it. That and shotgun to end the day

I have seriously considered it though...well...it crossed my mind a few times.

I warm up by shooting 25 round packs of birdshot through my shotgun.

With handguns, I like to warm-up with my .22 on small targets. It helps get me focused. Then I move on my larger guns.

Ever since I bought a CZ Kadet, I took it to the range all the time. But not for a purpose of warming up. I just enjoy punching paper with it.

I'm fortunate to have a decent supply of .22 and I always start out with 50-100 rounds before moving on to my centerfire handguns. 90% of the time it's my Kadet on a one of my CZ 75 variants.

I start and finish with a 22 pistol. You need to make sure your grip and follow through stay sharp.
