Whenever I go shooting, I typically "warm up" by shooting 50-100 rounds of .22s before moving on to a centerfire. Anyone else do this on a regular basis?

Absolutely. Bought myself a Sig 1911-22 last year for that purpose. After a little polishing, I've had no issues with it. Take a look at Travis Haley's "Venti 100 drill." I cut it down to Venti 50.

Thats been my issue with 22 too!
Back to OP, youre not running a marathon or power lifting here youre pulling a 3-6lb trigger lol.
Having a gun strictly for warmup makes me think you dont seriously train with it- which is fine but then why bring it to the range in the first place? I go back and forth depending on what I feel like. I shoot 2x the amount of 22lr vs 9mm because it's less than half as much per round. Usually 200-300 22lr and 100 9mm.
If I didn't have 22LR guns, my ammo cost per range visit would probably be $60 a visit rather than $40 a visit and I go every week so.... that's an extra grand a year!Comment

Heck, I warm up with .22LR before I shoot .22LR. It takes about 15 rounds to season the bbl on my bench rifle.Comment

I have no skills to warm up to.
So I just shoot what ever my hearts content. At long as I hit paper im happy. My uses don't call for .00989047373" groups to be had.

I almost always start with a 22---have plenty of ammo (stocked-up way before the 22 ammo panic)---gets me back in the groove before moving on to expensive centerfire ammo. After shooting the centerfire guns, I usually finish with more 22 shooting… Works for me!Comment
