Why is that? They can't ban it by statute can they? If they have, can you point me to the local ordinances?

Hmmmm. All you guys that UOC should probably check the municipal codes for the cities you carry in. I didn't know HB had that.

But this is a concealed carry list of laws... is the "about the person" thingamajig regarding OC as well? I think it can't be that way because it says "concealed on or about"... time to call Huntington Beach PD!

i guess that would depend on how you interpret it. it is under the "concealed firearms" Code, however it does say "wear OR carry concealed."

which could mean two things i guess

the wording gets tricky. im not going to be the test dummy until something gets clarified though

i am OCing in big bear next week. thankfully there are no LOCAL laws prohibiting such.

isnt UOC part of state law...wouldnt that specifically disallow localities from preempting it?

ETA: I think the key word in that is concealed.

The code page is titled, "Concealed Weapons". No person, "...shall wear or carry concealed on or about his person". By definition, not Open Carry. I think the emphasis placed on 'or' (OR) by 8TS65KJ is misleading. I would rather read the code as written and accepting the premise that this entire section is in regards to 'concealed weapons'.
