I usually take a pistol and an AR. I run through about 100 to 120 rounds in each.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

How many rounds I fire depends on how many guns I take and how much time I have. I'll be there anywhere from 1-3 hours. I shoot a lot of old surplus ammo.. so I'll shoot that until that rifle is too hot to reasonably shoot any more, when the wood is hot to the touch and things start getting sticky. I'll usually take a .22 as well, so I can alternate between them. With two+ rifles, I'll fire maybe around 400 rounds in 3 hours... I don't really count.

If my eyes start getting tired, I'll cut things short. My aim starts to get off a bit.

I've had a pretty good time shooting just pistol with just 50 rnds. Then again it's always better to have more ammo. haha.

When I go with just a little bit of ammo I try to do drills rather than just point and shoot at a given target.

2x2x2s are good for when you want to work on smooth reloads and don't have a ton of ammo. load two rounds in each mag, fire two, reload, fire two, reload fire two. Also nice if you have a shot timer so you can see your progress. If you really want you can even go down to 1x1x1s.

Another good drill if you are range allows holster work is to draw and fire one, reholster. Lather rinse repeat to improve time on target for a good hit. Again, having a shot timer is nice. Also hard to do at a public range because of the cross noise but even without a timer you get to have fun.

When I first started going tot he range I'd bring ALL of it. That was a gym bag full of at least 200 to 500 rounds for each rifle, pistol, revolver, or shotgun if I brought it. After I collected more then five rifles and a few handguns, that bag got HEAVY.

Eventually, I bought more guns, reduced the amount of ammo, and usually keep most of it in the car unless I want to drag it out. My new rule of thumb is only put what you can carry in your hands in the bag for ammo. If need more, you can always go back to the car.

My point is, I go to the range and I usually am paying $20 for range time, I might as well get my $20 out of it. Right? Why go and not be able to shoot as many rounds as possible? It makes complete sense.

Signed up for a membership at the SGC. I typically shoot more than I should which is why I want to buy a 22LR single action to both slow me down and let me shoot cheaper ammo. I don't think I could go and shoot less than 100 rounds, usually closer to 200.

I bring 300 rounds for an action pistol practice, 150 for the match.

Static line, about 100 for pistol and 50 for rifle is enough for me.

SCI... Are you going to answer the question? Until you do it's just more of your fantasy world.

I can't speak for him, but if he's anything like me, he probably means that you're full of crap and the only one here who is being the least bit fooled by your inane bloviating is you.
BTW... Whipkiller, extra points for using the word "bloviating".

That's nothing. I've shot, completely wasted, at a campfire with people who didn't know a handgun from a bar of soap. And I'm alive to tell about it!

It depends on what I am there for...
If i am doing drills, then Im not shooting that much.
If I am sighting in a new scope, I only shoot enough to get it sighted in.
If I am developing a new load then I may shoot a bit more to see if it will be accurate as the count goes up.
If I am there to have fun with my kids, then we shoot alot!

Lord, make me fast and accurate, let my aim be true and my hand faster than those who seek to destroy me, grant me victory over my foes and those that wish to do harm to me and mine, let not my last thought be - 'If I only had my gun'- and Lord if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in a pile of warm brass,
                              Amen

Dude, you have now set the delusional troll bar at a whole other level, well done.

I fear it may be difficult even for you to maintain this level of spuriousness for long.
