Some stellar verbiage you have there. Having been called out on psychobabble, you now resort to the more garden variety insults. Yawn.

I'm not quoting anyone. Notice I referenced multiple people, not any single one. It's the tone and ideology: arguing that it is unfair to impose restrictions on many for the good of a few (the vulnerable), while at the same time arguing that it is fair to do little in terms of mitigation for the many for the good of a few (the people who choose to die by suicide). Do you not see the contradiction in stance?

And if you'd actually bothered to read that article you're triumphantly waving, you'd notice that it never says there has been an increase in suicides, merely that they are worried that it might be the case. It also goes on to note that teen suicide has been a problem increasing in severity for many years:


This is one of those "oh will someone think of the children" plaintive appeals to pity, with no real evidence to support it. The difference here is that, where I'm accustomed to such arguments being made by those who want more gun control, now it is being utilized by the likes of you.

So, you set up a group straw man message. Yawn.

The article has said that they see increase in conditions, such as anxiety and depression, that leads to suicides. Wouldn't you agree that the more people who develop anxiety or depression the more suicides we would see? Or do such a relationship between increase cases and increased deaths as a function of the COVID pandemic.

Yes, youth suicides have been increasing. Kids are being actively brainwashed in schools, starting in elementary school. They are being sexualized in the early grades to the point where many question their gender (seen if first hand when I dated a psychologist who lives in Cardiff). They are being told that the world is going to end in 10 years because of "climate change." They are being told that they are evil if they a white or male, doubly so if they have both afflictions. And gee, we wonder why these kids are troubled?

As for you reference to "gun control" I made no such comment as to the suicide rate of teens. A couple of years ago I looked at suicide data from countries around the world. I focused on males as they are most apt to use a firearm. We are about the same as Japan, which is a country with literally no gun rights and much, much better than South Korea who also have virtually no privately owned guns. Stepping in front of a train is a popular method there. We are also very similar to Sweden and better than Iceland (very strict gun laws), Hungary (again, strict laws), and Belgium (very strict.) I looked at New Zealand and Australia - two countries that are similar in culture but with different gun laws - Australia being more restrictive there. They were the same. I came away with the conclusion that it really doesn't matter much whether a country has strict gun laws or not. People will find a way to commit suicide as there are plenty of alternatives than using a firearm.
