I am fairly sure you are either misinterpreting Fauci's comments. But without going into that, until as recently as two months ago, everyone on this planet could confidently say "there has NEVER been a vaccine for a coronavirus" and been quite accurate. Things change. Science progresses. A good scientific thinker changes their belief systems in response to evidence.

ETA: Okay, found the press briefing. His words (paraphrased): "We want to see the data on asymptomatic transmission because that will change the way we respond (remember this is back in February). However, even if there is asymptomatic transmission, it has never been the main driver - the main driver has been symptomatic transmission."

His point wasn't that AT isn't possible (and as we found out, not only is it possible but it happens a whole lot with SARS COV 2), it is that we shouldn't assume that screenings etc are useless and therefore not bother doing any of it.

So outside of the fact that Fauci said in Feburary that asymptomatic spread has NEVER been the main driver of a pandemic, and the study I posted recently that had 300 asymptomatic people who were in close contact with over 1000 people who were contact traced and found to not have been infected, you believe and expect everyone to believe that THIS virus is completely different than any virus previously studied by modern medicine and THIS virus is capable of dramatic asymptomatic spread and for the first time in recorded history it's asymptomatic spread that is the main driver of this pandemic?

Is your article/study peer reviewed? Are there other papers/studies that also come to the same conclusion? Is there a large body of science that agrees with that study?

Because if this is scientific fact then people like you will need to wear a mask forever to protect you from a virus with a 99.99 percent survival rate if you are under 50.

b) Asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic spread is however a "substantial driver" during the colder months when people crowd together indoors, fly around during the holidays etc, especially among the right-wing conspiracy whacko's who refuse to take even the most basic of precautions.

c) COVID HOSPITALIZATIONS are at a all-time high in the USA, and as such deaths will follow.

d) 3% of COVID hospitalizations end in death, not your BS figure.
