Oh how the narrative would be different if Berry were in office. Instead of hearing how incompetent Trump is, we'd be subject to the mantra that Berry is a man of our time, our great messiah, saving the world, etc. (another cover on Time). Question: Is the president and federal government responsible for local testing? Yeah, right.

Testing doesn’t stop virus. You wanted more testing, you got it. Sweden was mocked and warned and now they only have a single COVID death a day.

I still laugh at the posters that want to blame Trump for everything regardless of where responsibilities should rest.
We have governors and mayors that tells the Feds stay out of our sandbox e.g. ice. Then those same career politicians want Trump to run every aspect of something like this.Comment

a) Trump should not have downplayed the severity of SARS-CoV-2 for months when he and the administration could've instead been creating and stockpiling PPE and Testing Components via the Defense Production Act, rather than bidding against the the individual states for whatever was available overseas among other things.
b) Trump could've clearly asked for a unified response across state lines, with enough options to work for individual areas (rural and urban, IR etc), as the far-right likely would've gone along with everything better if Trump had asked them to early on I'm guessing (hard to tell when science and logic are ignored)?
c) Mardi-Grais and Spring Break should've been canceled as those were the first two major super-spreader events that let the cat out of the bag nation-wide so to speak.
NOTE: Before anyone says but what about the BLM protests, those were not organized events that anyone could've stopped short of attacking the protesters, which would've been ugly for a so called freedom loving constitutional republic with it's constitutionally protected right of peaceful protest.
As to the rioters and looters, they should be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law and/or deported if here illegally, there's no place for that here!
/NOTE
d) Repatriation efforts early on should've required quarantine sooner, as much of CA's problem likely started with Silicon Valley manufacturing engineers coming back from China/Asia early on in Santa Clara county.
e) The simple concepts of public health directives should not have been politicized, and all are to blame for that right and left!
I think we'd look much better now, more like the other developed countries IF some of the above had been implemented...Comment

Our numbers are only that high "under Trump" because idiot governors in CA and NY sent positive patients BACK into nursing homes and care facilities where the most vulnerable people were. The difference is that SARS-CoV-2 is far more contagious/transmissible, and far deadlier than H1N1.
H1N1: 12,000 - 18,000 deaths in US in one year (under Obama without shut-downs).
SARS-CoV-2: 162,000 deaths in six months (under Trump with some shut-downs).
The main differences are SARS-CoV-2's asymptomatic and presymptomatic transmissions rates are estimated at 45% +- of the total IR, plus the fact that SARS-CoV-2 attacks the human body in multiple novel ways (both compared to H1N1), and last but not least the complete failure of a unified national response along with the politicizing of simple public health advisories like social distancing and masking up.
It's almost as if these Liberal/Marxists governors wanted a bunch of people to die to make this outbreak more serious.

Thanks for posting your complete lack of understanding of basically everything having to do with facts, statistics, biology and epidemiology/virology.Typical right-wing extremist, who can't understand facts and stats, and then in childish frustration resorts to BS Fox News style LOL!
The facts are that Trump screwed up and Obama didn't, though that could've easily been reversed if Obama had treated SARS-CoV-2 the same way they treated H1N1 in 2009 - 2010.
Read it slowly a few times, you'll get it bagman, i.e. the viruses are different, and as such they require different responses."Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth."

This is true, though the fact is they were also following federal guidelines regarding making hospital space available by shipping patients back to their nursing homes, and it wasn't just NY and CA, it was many states following the same guidelines. It's also to be noted that nursing homes were able to refuse the patients if unable to properly care for them. At that time the NE was out of hospital space etc.
MA and CONN did it better by designating some homes as COVID homes, and others as not, and then concentrating whatever PPE they had where it was needed.
That said, indeed, a huge fatal mistake, but in no way solely responsible for the huge delta in deaths between the H1N1 and SAR-CoV-2 pandemics (at most maybe 25% of the 162,000 in six months).Comment

Trump stopped travel from China on Jan 29 while Fauci was telling the nation that this was no worse than the flu.The federal government...
a) Trump should not have downplayed the severity of SARS-CoV-2 for months when he and the administration could've instead been creating and stockpiling PPE and Testing Components via the Defense Production Act, rather than bidding against the the individual states for whatever was available overseas among other things.
Trump setup quarantines at March ARB and Travis AFB starting Jan 29
Completely unprecedented responses by a sitting president and entirely new protocol created.
A 15 day national shutdown that was extended to 45 days. National coordinated directive, an action unprecedented, a new protocol never heard of previously.b) Trump could've clearly asked for a unified response across state lines, with enough options to work for individual areas (rural and urban, IR etc), as the far-right likely would've gone along with everything better if Trump had asked them to early on I'm guessing (hard to tell when science and logic are ignored)?
Fauci was telling the public a lie not to wear masks.
Dictator Trump doesn't dictate enough!!! He should have followed Whitmers facsist lead and closed all the supermarkets and stopped all food production!!!c) Mardi-Grais and Spring Break should've been canceled as those were the first two major super-spreader events that let the cat out of the bag nation-wide so to speak.
BS. The issues in Florida and Louisiana didn't really start to appear until the Floyd protests started.

Can you be any more full of isht?
How can one 'peacefully protest' when their mere presence on the street carries deadly consequences? There was a threat of death as soon as they stepped out the door, and that threat should have been used to end any protests until it was safe.NOTE: Before anyone says but what about the BLM protests, those were not organized events that anyone could've stopped short of attacking the protesters, which would've been ugly for a so called freedom loving constitutional republic with it's constitutionally protected right of peaceful protest.
Such brilliant wisdom! SC county has 11k cases today. LA county has 200k. Brilliant!!! You seem to have forgotten that quarantines for people returning from China were setup on Jan 29.As to the rioters and looters, they should be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law and/or deported if here illegally, there's no place for that here!

Tell me again which other countries had quarantines for people returning from China? Italy didn't. Spain didn't. They stopped travel from China after we did. The entire world followed our lead on lock down with a few notable exceptions like Sweden.e) The simple concepts of public health directives should not have been politicized, and all are to blame for that right and left!

NY, NJ and CT all have deaths per million of close to 1700. Italy and Spain don't even come close to those horrible numbers. Many of those deaths were from sending the sick into nursing homes, something the whole nation was aware of after it happened in Washington state in February, but Cuomo and Murpy did it anyway, and thousands died as a result.
This president's use of executive power to manufacturer ventilators and PPE are also historically unprecedented new protocols that were invented to deal with this crisis effectively.
The idea that the massive testing capacity built from the ground up by this president after the CDC failed at doing the one job they have is an incredible story of success, no nation on the planet has ever tested as much of their population as the US has for this virus. The science of testing for viral contagions will be completely rewritten in years to come because of this phenomenal achievement.
You seem horribly disconnected from the facts and reality.
I thought that A-hole Gates was going to provide in home rapid tests. WTF happened to that effort Bill?
So is this Gates being guilty of politicizing a public health directive?A project funded by billionaire Bill Gates is set to issue at-home testing kits for people who fear they have been infected with the coronavirus.
Just days after the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced a second round of investment to help detect and treat the new coronavirus, The Seattle Times reports that a project backed by the couple will be delivered to people in the Seattle area in the coming weeks.

The entire nation never really shut down, and you must look outside of Louisanna and Florida to see the effects of Mardi Grais and Spring Break. It's an exponential spread, and it only takes one infected person to return to their home from Mardi Grais or Spring Break to start up the local infection etc, which then grows into what we see now. Don't forget the lead time from the infected returning home, quite possibly sans symptoms, infecting others possibly sans symptoms, who then infect others until some individuals need hospitalization. It could be many weeks until someone gets symptoms, gets tested and/or hospitalized to count in the stats, all while the infection grows.
I'm not debating whether the shut downs are handled correctly, that's above my pay grade, I'm just looking at the numbers as that's the final arbitrator, sad but true.
Your so called "massive testing" was too slow to start, and is still too slow in day to day function to be of much help with regards to contract tracing (unless you're an elite of course...), which is how the most successful nations have handled it (contact tracing, as well as social distancing and masks etc).
I didn't mention Gates, not sure what he's up to?
As to your paranoia regarding Gates and Fauci, good luck with that!Last edited by DJD100; 08-10-2020, 3:31 PM.Comment

Where exactly should we be looking outside Florida and Louisiana? California which now has more cases than any other in the nation? California where the public health director just resigned over a problem that has caused massive under counting in the state with 600k cases? LA county where there are more cases than the entire state of Louisiana? LA county today has more cases than 45 other states, and it looks like that number is going to climb dramatically when they fix the massive under count issue, probably close to a million cases.
What Gates is up to is doing press events where he criticized our testing instead of doing something to improve it.
What is the turn around time for a test in Spain? Italy? Germany? SK? You must have these numbers off the top of your head to make such a comment about our tests being too slow, which is what Gates said, which is the current MSM 4AM talking point, but no data to back that up.
Post for me in great detail the contact tracing protocols from Germany, Spain, Italy, the UK and SK. All the documentation you have that gives you this informed knowledge of how 'they' did it better.
Bring the facts or GTFO.Last edited by SAN compnerd; 08-10-2020, 12:55 PM."I think we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious." - Thomas Jefferson, 1824

Where would you send those sick patients if not back to their SNF? SNF = skilled nursing facility. Yo know, where they have nurses, equipment, rooms, training for dealing with infectious disease. What would you have them do instead? Send them home to their families so they can spread it even faster and to more people? Send them to hospitals, so they can be even more overwhelmed?
The SNFs were and still are the best place for sick residents to go back to once they are no longer in acute danger. Where do you think 80 year old grandmas go after they are stabilized at the hospitals right now? Yep, they go right back to SNFs, because that is the best place for them.
Of course, you'll say, "But that's how we got so many deaths!" That is because the disease is a very difficult one, no doubt about it. Compound that with a dire lack of PPE even now because the government can't get it together, plus a CDC that's been sidelined and cut out of the public view, and a leadership that keeps insisting that "it's going to dissappear" - well, this is what you get.Entreprise Arms - FFL 07 manufacturer of CA-Legal FAL type rifles in Baldwin Park, CA.
