Just got shut down

Some bonehead decided it was a good idea to come to work sick. They sent him home yesterday and made him get tested. I dunno what the doctors rules are concerning tests here but we build all the hospitals and have some pull there. Sure enough test came back positive so now the whole fab facility is shut down until it gets cleaned. Anyone know what that cleaning process is?

I imagine they are going to fast track it since we are in the middle of building a couple hospitals and revamping some others as well as working with military on their quarantine facilities and such.

It's part of American culture to go to work sick. Culture doesn't change overnight Covid or no Covid.

I make sure I stay home the first days of illness...

I've actually had dumbasses tout proudly how theyve "never taken a sick day from work"... and show up sick - getting everyone else sick. Its plain ignorance.

The only positive we will get out of COVID-19 is people will wash hands more and keep their asses home when sick... probably wont last lonq though - because I've learned, we have a lot of stupid people in this country.

Don't know if you've had site cleaning done yet, ours happened overnight when we had a person in the building test positive. Luckily we were able to find a service that had a time slot open up on Friday afternoon for the next night.

The company who did our cleaning were fully suited up and wiped down all common areas with hospital grade disinfectants then used electrostatic foggers on the entire space.

I'm not sure. They said something about a HALO or HELO or HOMO system, something like that. We are cleared to come back Monday "if we feel safe".

I’ve been shut down for a while now. If it’s not 10% low income housing, in progress structural repair, or in progress foundation, my company shut us down. I’m pissed because my new jobsite is literally 300 yards from from my house. I popped out for 15 minutes to do an inspection and back home before the coffee is cold. ****ing cake.

I was going fishing until the *******s shutdown the lakes. Tried scouting out a few new locations but no luck. Decided I’m going to learn how to rebuild an old AK because why not.

Guess I’ll take dibs on your guns since no one else seems to want them.

I agree. It comes from the "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" motto. People who immediately take sick leave for a sniffle are considered lazy or as working the system.

It has a tendency to mean that the "dedicated" person ends up making many more at work sick, but I am not sure that we want to go with the European model of "take off two weeks if you even think that you might get sick some day".

Don't know how accurate that European comment is, but my motto is - definitely go to work sick and infect all your co-workers - wouldn't want them to get ahead while I'm out sick. If I take them all down with me we're all still in the same place in the ladder.

They did their cleaning and we are back in the shop. Who knows what they did, nothing is changed. All the dust is exactly where I left it.

Yes sir, everything in the shop has been meticulously disinfected by a band of sorority girls in french maid outfits. If everything is exactly where you left it a week ago, it's because we carefully put everything back. Don't you worry.

We cleaned a 1.5 million square foot warehouse twice in 48 hours - two different companies did it for us. The person that was positive was a vendor installing some windows and things (building is new).
