    Just got shut down

Some bonehead decided it was a good idea to come to work sick. They sent him home yesterday and made him get tested. I dunno what the doctors rules are concerning tests here but we build all the hospitals and have some pull there. Sure enough test came back positive so now the whole fab facility is shut down until it gets cleaned. Anyone know what that cleaning process is?

I imagine they are going to fast track it since we are in the middle of building a couple hospitals and revamping some others as well as working with military on their quarantine facilities and such.

The process will depend on which protocol used. The chemicals have different dwell times.

It's part of American culture to go to work sick. Culture doesn't change overnight Covid or no Covid.

Somebody has pay for the lazy and poor in the US and around the world. To your point, it really is. I am working during this and most people in know are working or pissed they can't work.

When someone calls in sick, most people are upset. The majority of americans dont use all of their PTO. After working for a company for 20 years, only calling in sick a few times, never taking a vacation, loosing relationships over working overtime, sometimes without pay, I'm starting to have a different view. I haven't changed much but I'm starting to think about it.

The guy knew he was not feeling well and came in anyways? I hate people like that anyways but it’s not excusable at all with this thing going around. Sugar in the gas tank would not be overkill IMO

Sorry to hear that. Will you continue to get paid while shut down?

Can't stand people that come in to work sick. Your job isn't that important, no matter what you think.

Even without this current hysteria if you have so much as the sniffles they send your butt home. We run on a somewhat lean staff as it is, we can't handle too many sick people at once.

Meh, you can't be mad at the guy. He should have come to work sick. He shouldn't have stayed home. That way everyone could have got sick and let their body and immune system get used to it.

Well, at least that is what some of our astute members on this board said in my thread about co-workers going into work sick.

Let's not forget the walking well who are sick and don't know it.

It doesn't hurt if we don't know it, though.

Yup. He is the cousin of a guy who is already home with a confirmed positive test. That guy had already been working from home for 3 weeks now and just tested positive. Apparently these two had contact at some point and this turd knows this, gets sick, and comes in anyway... I'm sure he will get beaten up in the parking lot if he comes back after this. Its happened before for lesser things... those metal workers union guys dont mess around.

Since you are no longer "essential", time for you to stay home and away from the hardware store, fast food joints and the geezers.

Kidding aside, hope you get back to work soon and weren't exposed to anything.

                              Bummer OP!

My own shutdown was initially soft, said people could come to work if they wanted, no biggie. The next day it was "Your badge has been disabled, do not come under any circumstances."
