Starting up too early without rapid detection so we can isolate and trace means it was all for naught (and a manageable case load). Unless you get the r0 under 1 it’ll keep going.

Not in Sweden, they only implemented limited measures. And Czech republic as well I think.

No one's saying that this literally is the flu. If that most recent forecast is close then the death count won't be much different.
