The same way every pump action shotgun is blocked for hunting. It's been done for many years with nothing more than a dowel with o rings or a plastic plug.

Whatever happened with the hold on AOW applications. There was suppose to be a verdict in June but never heard a response. I had the money collected to do a trust but EBRworks said that they weren't accepting any applications at the time because of the pending change in laws.

This says the decision was postponed until Jan 2015:
For those of you who were following the proposed ATF rule on how trusts buy firearms, you’ll remember that June was the month we expected an update. That update actually came late last month.…

Late in 2013, the ATF published a notice that they intended to seek to revise the regulations regarding the documentation that is required for a Gun Trust and for a business. After the ATF ...

Guess I was lucky, I bought an AOW last year as I knew this was coming. I agree with CSA, they are a novelty gun, not that fun to shoot, but fun to own. I bought the Rem 870-based model because it held four shells, the Serbu SS and the Safe Harbor small models only held two shells. I was told that SxS shotguns can still be AOW legally here moving forward, but I am not sure if a pump or semi can be delivered.

Also, a correction. You can buy and own a C&R SBS in California, IF you can find one to buy. Cannot convert a C&R to an SBS, have to find one that is already papered, difficult but not impossible.

Way less work then a saiga 12 AOW.
Even when you build a handgun you have to comply with the roster. Usually that means SSE, but as already mentioned SSE is being curtailed to an extent. I'm not sure how this specific handgun would be possible next year. I'll let the other people debate the possibilities though.

That's too bad. It was the fifth gun I bought only because the evil overlords in Sacramento didn't think I should be able to own one. Not a very big practical loss not being able to buy an AOW here anymore but a huge rights loss.

I predict that there will still be ways to legally get AOWs into Ca.

It's not a good sign when EBR says it's not possible. They really do their best to go out on a limb for us.

You might want to talk to OC Firearms about that, I think Mike at EBR Works is done with AOWs. It's a lot of work and little profit for an FFL07/SOT02 to do these.
