I prefer to remove the plastic fouling when I clean......brass brush with 10x bore cleaner....followed by patches....then a pass or two with a Tica spryed with oil.

It's steel wool not fabric

The tico tool is steel wool? I never thought steel wool would hold that much dirt in it. How do you clean them if they are steel wool?

There was still visible fouling after one pass with the snake but my bore looked brand new after firing some slugs and buck.

Ive always used the bore snake
never have used patches

I don't know if I'm lazy, but I only use my Boresnake on my 12g. I think it looks clean and shiny when finished.
