    AOW shotgun wait time

I was wondering if anyone has bought an aow shotgun in the last 9 months. if so how long was the wait time for the stamp?

i bought one at the end of october and was told 6-7 months but havent heard anything yet. I called the shop the other day and was told its now about 8 months wait. so hopefully any day i will get the call.

i have checked NFAtracker.com and there are people getting stuff in just a few months to 5 months but most are not in CA

Around 7 months for approval back in January. Call the NFA branch with your serial and they can give you the status, though it will be limited information such as when the form went pending originally, or if the approval is pending, in which case you should get the form within the next 30 days.

Edit: ATF NFA Branch (304) 616-4500

It took 9 months from date of submission. Just go play with your other toys and try not to think about it.

In January I was told about 7 months, so I should expect something about July or so.

Sounds like you're OK...hopefully you'll hear something within the next month!

I put in for my stamp on November 10th, 2012 and not a peep so far. I promised my FFL I would forget about it and not bug them and so far, I have kept my word. It will arrive when it arrives.

This seems to be a smart tact these days. In the past year, I have waited:

Powder Valley Reloading Supplies - 4 months
                  Wideners - M44 - 3 months, 18 days
                  CMP Garand - 4 months
CMP HXP Ammo - 4 months
                  FFL03 - 4 months
                  COE - 1 month, 2 weeks
Grafs Reloading Supplies - 3 month, 4 days
ATF for Tax Stamp for AOW - 6 months, 5 days so far...

Are there any new pending laws that make it too late to get an AOW shotgun right now?

AB169 would stop the CA transfer of them most likely

It would stop the transfer of them, as in, no one could purchase them anymore?

as in you wouldn't be able to use SSI as a way to comply with the roster regulations anymore. So, it would be limited to those that are roster-exempt, like LEOs.

Or, we could try to talk Mark Serbu into getting the Super Shorty drop-tested and listed on the roster

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
