Found this on my carpet today.

    1978 Remington Wingmaster 870 LH, 28" VR.

I'm looking for suggestions/feedback on how to maintain a blued gun, and the wood stock.

On my 870 express tactical, I do like being able to hold the gun in my shooting hand and load with my right... Certainly no issues with that.

My first gun purchase ever was a Remington 870 Wingmaster back in 1982 and still own it today. It used to be as clean as yours until a few months ago when my son left it on our boat on a weekend trip and didnt clean/oil her down before placing it back in my safe. Corrosion pitting on the receiver and then he tried cleaning it with steel wool and messed up the bluing. Still shoots as good as new though :-) Planning to get it ceracoated soon!

Being a left handed as well i wish (back then) i would've known they made a lefty version!

my sister used a dish scrub on her new car to clean off bird sh*t. so much for that paint job. LOL.

So speaking of which... I'm doing research on how to keep/maintain a blued gun.

Got any suggestions for me? How about the wood stock, how to treat/maintain that?

                        Thanks,BC

                          Very Nice!!
I have a Right handed model and love it!! Mine stays looking & working like new with regular cleaning & light lube. The last thing I do is wipe down the entire gun with a Remoil wipe.

Remoil wipe as in a rag damp with remoil?

That or they do sell wipes, like towelettes but with oil on them.
