this is exactly why when I have a PG on a shotgun its a side folder so I have the option of either a stock or PG best of both worlds IMO
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774_1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764

Winchester model 1300 w/ pistol grip. When i was young, I figured out a way to relax my arm as i fired from the hip, while still maintaining a firm grasp on the grip. This allowed the gun/arm to move backwards slightly and absorb a bit of the recoil. Had to concentrate, and there was a learning curve. I know your pain from the times i forgot. Eventually, I got it down. Don't give up, you may need it someday.
