His positioning says he is shooting trap, not skeet. No hat? My husband was hit with clay fragments when skeet shooting. Gave him a bloody nose. Pretty sure they would have #1 wearing a hat to protect his good looks. (eww). Everything about this photo says staged. But then, what do I know?

I only wear a hat when the sun is an issue. Lots of guys don't wear them. For me they get in the way. I can't recall ever seeing anyone get hit, but I sppose its possible on stations 7 and 8 but and he would likely have been shooting higher at those stations.

Remarks like that are what scare the bejeezus out of kids, girlfriends and news.

Shotguns, particularly using target loads, do not recoil much and its a "puch" that is very unlike the sharp recoil of some centerfire rifles.

Like most target shooters, I have shot hundreds of rounds in a day, even as a kid, and felt nothing other than fatigue afterwards, mainly from the weight of the gun and concentration.

Even a bad mount with with magnum loads will just give you a bruise

As far as the rest of what you said goes, most everyone knows you have to shoot correctly, even people who have not shot. We can just say everything is like a popgun for the kids, girlfriends and news, if that is better.

She must have had some sort of underlying medical or bone disorder.

Shooting correctly enables you to enjoy yourself and hit the target. Other than that, all you will avoid is a bruise. Breaking bones is pretty hard to believe.

I have been shooting a lot of years, belonged to clubs since I was about 12 and have never seen or heard of any injury such as you describe.

I say the picture is too little too late...I think he should show he is everybody's president and show himself in pictures shooting an AR, like millions of sports people in America and those in the US military do.

Totally staged. The smoke, pointing of the barrel, body positioning and what? No recoil?

Someone posted that it is a .410 barrel insert in the 20 gauge bore; hence, the smoke pattern.
