I'm sure you've heard all the hoopla about Obama's claim that he does skeet shooting and there has been many claims whether it's true or not. Well the White House has finally release a photo. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013...keet-shooting/
Not sure if this photo was taken before or after Obama made the comment.

Anyway, the main reason for my post is about the gas that is shooting out on the right side of the barrel. I've never seen this. Is this some type of stabilizing feature?

It's a ported barrel. Lots of shotguns have them(and there are places that will do it aftermarket). There is also a lot of debate about whether they're worthwhile, but regardless they still exist.

Plus it only has a choke tube on the over barrel. Who shoot's skeet that way? Certainly not me.

Well there are plenty of other problems with the picture as well.

Lighting looks off compared to the rest of the image. He isn't wearing anything capable of holding more than a couple of shot shells(no pouch, vest, cargo pants, etc.), even with depth of field taken into consideration it still looks like it was badly superimposed in photoshop, the lighting appears to be coming straight down, but there's no shadow on his right forearm. His right wrist looks out of proportion to his hand and the rest of his arm. The single extended choke tube doesn't make any sense(could have a flush tube on the bottom, but why?). He may have fired a gun at some point in time, but I don't believe that picture is legit.

Even if it were legit, it would be nothing more than "hey, let me grab that and take a shot for a photo op" since nothing in the picture(assuming it isn't altered) indicates he's doing anything more than firing a random shot down range.

Yeah, as if we don't have enough information about Obama and his beliefs, now we question whether he'd hold and fire a gun to further his agenda.

Who cares, it's obviously a photo op, real or not, and nobody outside his immediate circle is buying it.
