I saw a pic collage showing taht photo of Obama shooting on the top and this picture on the bottom as a retort. I think the tagline was "Obama shoots guns too!" at the top and "B*tch please!" with this photo at the bottom.



Pretty sure it's well calculated politically to show him shooting a shotgun to make the shotgun/trap shooting crowd not worried but we're never going to see him (or at least photos) shooting an AR or EBR.

I wish I can find that collage photo, if someone can link it please.

I think they have skeet mixed up with trap. He doesn't look like he's on a skeet range....

He wants to appear moderate on guns, but he's right out of the stalinist/Hitler/Mao camp on gun contro and civil rights if he gets his way.

His form was way better than Palin's, another fraud shooter.

His positioning says he is shooting trap, not skeet. No hat? My husband was hit with clay fragments when skeet shooting. Gave him a bloody nose. Pretty sure they would have #1 wearing a hat to protect his good looks. (eww). Everything about this photo says staged. But then, what do I know?

I say the picture is too little too late...I think he should show he is everybody's president and show himself in pictures shooting an AR, like millions of sports people in America and those in the US military do.

anytime I shoot skeet im pointin at the sky not straight ahead.

People are making too much of the angle. If you are at station 2 or 4 it can be a pretty low shot, particularly if you are slow on the going away shot as most beginners are.

The thing that I thought was wierd was the amount of smoke (could be right. Its the sort of thing you don't notice after awhile) and the seeming lack of it coming out of the ports facing the camera - that's just odd.

there must be a number of pictures or this is a video capture since getting a picture like this requires incredible timing. I also note that there seems to be no recoil. I haven't seen a slo mo video of a shotgun shooting so I don't know about the recoil timing and the powder exiting the barrel.

I've been wondering why a smokeless powder shotshell has that much smoke to begin with.

Just because its smokeless it doesnt mean you wont see smoke. My "smokeless" AA#2 powder smokes like crazy from my fart loads.

Im sure he shot it, just dont agree with what hes doing to us.

The gas ports on the barrel are clearly visible on the LEFT SIDE OF THE SHOTGUN, yet the smoke comes only from the RIGHT SIDE.

Go to the actual photo yourself, don't trust a link that could be messed with.

The OFFICIAL PHOTO RELEASE shows this barrel is ported on the LEFT yet the smoke is on the RIGHT.

I went to a local large gun store on Saturday, they have ported shotguns, all had gas ports that were on BOTH SIDES OF THE BARREL.

It's the same image as the article linked previously. What in the world are you talking about? And yes, anyone can hold the control key and scroll their mouse wheel to look at how the gas is only coming from one side even though the ports are visible. Of course it doesn't really appear to look like it's coming from the right, since if you zoom in you can see the left side of the vent rib through the smoke, which would mean it's coming from the left side(even though it still doesn't seem to line up or match the porting at all).

Someone posted that it is a .410 barrel insert in the 20 gauge bore; hence, the smoke pattern.

Remarks like that are what scare the bejeezus out of kids, girlfriends and other newbs.

Shotguns, particularly using target loads, do not recoil much and its a "push" that is very unlike the sharp recoil of some centerfire rifles.

Like most target shooters, I have shot hundreds of rounds in a day, even as a kid, and felt nothing other than fatigue afterwards, mainly from the weight of the gun and concentration.

Even a bad mount with with magnum loads will just give you a bruise
