I have the Mossberg 500 Blackwater Edition with the same forend. Not sure if you've shot it yet. Hated mine. Took it off after the first trip to the range. Depending what shells you're shooting..the recoil may cause the pump to slide in your hand just a bit..the tri-rail slams your thumb and it bites pretty good, especially if you lose a bit of tension on the pump after a couple of quick shots. This happened to a few friends who tried my shotgun as well. Got rid of it and threw a Hogue forend and stock on there. Haven't shot it since..but it feels much more comfortable. As a result of losing the tri-rail..I picked up a Nebo light and mount combo at Big5 for $30. Clamps right to the tube and I can turn it on with my index finger. Not sure how good it is for that price or if it will stay on or not, but like you..I'm only planning on needing it if something goes bump in the night in the house, and hopefully that never happens!! I'll find out on the next range trip..which isn't likely until the end of next month or later.
