You spent all that time to try and prove a point? I do believe someone is mad.

Thank you all for the suggestions. My wife will probably get it for me fr Christmas so hopefully this makes it easier to decide.

Thoughts on rail mounted lights vs. one that is on a mount attached to the barrel or tube? I hear someone say that their rail mounted light fell off after 3 shots.

Sorry I think the thread died off. Any thoughts on the above post?

Mine never fell off after 50 rounds and it's rail mounted. Just make sure it's tight on the rail

Cool that helps. What light do you have? I'm not going to be shooting much with it on but I don't want it to fall off after a few shots. My gun holds 9 shots so as long as it lasts that long ill be ok

I got a TK15 on an Elzetta ZSM on my 870. Had the pressure switch but I have to send it back for RMA. This is slightly bothersome; moreso because the shotgun saw minimal use and mostly low recoil rounds. Possible I just got a lemon.

Scroll back up to the 2nd post. I have the TLR-1s mounted onto that Streamlight 12 gauge shotgun mount.

Will the tlr1-s mount directly on a rail on my forend or am I going to have to buy a mount? It's a mako fab tri rail forend.

                      meh

I use a UTG el-338 for my SG and my AR. I found it to be the best light for the cash. Has a mount and pressure pad, runs off of CR-123's, runs 200 lumens and cost me $50.

As for mounting usually under is good or right side if you're a righty and left side if you're a lefty. Remember if you are shooting from cover to be aware of where your light is. I have seen people illuminate themselves by poking their weapon around cover yet the light doesn't extend past it. Also think about if you have to switch hands will the light be clear of cover if your poking around? This is a higly neglected aspect of tacical shooting.

I never thought about that. You make a good point about light placement, but I just wanted to know if a stock TLRS-1 will mount directly on one of my rails or if I need to buy a mount.

I have the same shotgun forend and mounted a surefire x300 ultra 500 lumens and the quality you cant find anywhere else. Mounting system is solid and holds up to recoil. The location of the forend mount with the light lines up perfect with your hand to manipulate with your thumb. I also mounted a magpul afg on the bottom rail for stability and grip and I highly recommend it.

The streamlight tlr will mount straight to the mako forend

Cool thanks that answers my question. I looked at that x300 ultra and damn that thing is expensive! Would be nice though but id rather put that towards a new gun
