Wilson "border" shotgun

The heart of Vang Comp's improvements are lengthing the forcing cone and backboring the barrel (i.e. increasing it's bore). These operations done by a competent shotgun smith does wonders for mass produced barrels. This is exactly what is going on here. I doubt that Vang Comp's barrel porting does much based upon my experience of ported shotguns. I just view it as more effort to clean the barrel.
I would recommend the OP to find a good shotgun smith in their area and get the barrel's forcing cone lengthened and backbored than go to Vang Comp. This way, the OP can work with the local smith to customize the specs.
It seems like lengthing forcing cones and backboring barrels are a mystery to tactical shotgunners, but no mystery to skeet, trap, and sporting clays shooters. Go to one of those shooters for smith recommendations. I have shot some wonderfully worked 870 Wingmasters from local smiths in my county.**

I like my sig mosquito. Its fun. If I ever move to a free state and have a range in my basement, I will surpress it. But for now it will sit in my safe and wait. I bring it out now and then to shoot at the range. Wishing it could be free.
I have a rem 870 turned out by scatter tech. Bought it in 1997. Has been a reliable and fun shotgun. Please spay or neuter your liberals.Comment

Just wanted to say thanks to Robairto, Stator, zombiekiller gunrun45 paradiddle timmy8151 dasanii19 L-2 Mute timmyb21, Blue and everyone for offering some advice, information or input.
I moved from the south to the north A15barrels and will probably move out of state the next time I move.
Nothing wrong with keeping it simple NIB. I'm not looking to double the weight with lasers, IF scope and a 30 round side saddle
It's on it's way Proraptor

Some great advice too.
Im assuming you and the family are .mil?
No need for all the tacticool accessories, most of them are overrated anyways.
If you live in the bay area, I can do repairs for you. Im a certified Sig Armorer. If you need a problem diagnosed, let me know via pm.
Ive found that a regular 870 does wonders. You can get them in all sorts of variants from plain jane to tacticool. I chose to go plain jane because there isnt really any need in a HD style shotgun for lasers/IR/20 rd sidesaddles/heat seeking anti-personel rds etc etc. The most I invested in is a Surefire forearm light, and I think thats just as far as I would need. Now if you are going for a competition rig, then thats a whole new ballgame. You can even find 870's in the for sale section for 275 on up, buy one of those and then send it off to wilson combat for tweeking. Depending on your frame size, you should also consider changing the stock out to a youth model stock, as some smaller sized ladies have probs shouldering a full size. Youth models drop that stock length around a inch and a half, which makes it really nice to throw up/shoulder.Originally posted by Soldier415I am naked except for seatless white chaps, a boonie hat and a tactical vest playing HALO.Originally posted by oaklanderI don't like getting my butt kicked, but I would like to have it spanked by some big hairy guys!Originally posted by ohsmilyI wouldn't put "mounting a weasel" past too many people on this forum.Originally posted by hoffmangGoing after the NFA soon is like asking the girl you just met in the bar if she's into anal sex...

I heard CCI was the best or may'be the Winchester Wildcats but that's all I was using but the seller recommended I stick to CCI mini-mags, so I got some and will test them out this up coming weekend.Lisa

I talked with Roger's Relics to speed up receiving my Mossberg from the other party in LA, so hopefully I'll have it in my hands by the middle of next month. I'm happy with the shotgun I have now, so I'll hold off on figuring out if I want a Wilson and do more research and looking around till I'm ready to decide.

FN SLP Mark 1. Good recoil reduction, evil looking, but not too evil. Can double as a clay gun with 22" barrel. $699.
Regarding California, coming from Texas, I love to hate it
However, one hour to the beach or 30 minutes race to 7000ft elevation. Kinda hard to beat that combo with a temperate valley in between.
I can live anywhere, but for right now, that keeps me here
Can't let one thing make you move cause there are all the other good things to balance it out. Irritating though it may be.

If you're willing to spend 1K+ on a Wilson shotgun you might want to consider a Benelli M4. I know it's not a pump and probably cost a little more but I like mine alot. I'd let you try it out but I don't know of any range that'll allow non trap guns around the Bay Area.Comment

I've tried the Benelli M4 and it just wasn't for me. Cool shotgun though.
There's a few ranges that allow non-trap but they're babies when it comes to ammo (or is that what you're referring to?)Lisa
