    Wilson "border" shotgun

Is the only way to get a Wilson "combat" shotgun thru Wilson? At $1,000 not including shipping, FFL transfer fee and possibly taxes, I was hoping to find a used one but have not seen one at any of the guns shows or online or even at my local gun shops.

Your local shop should be able order one for you but they WILL mark the price up even more.....Or you could go with the Remington steal deal that they (Wilson) have- you can pick up a used or new 870 and then send it in to them to have the border patrol makeover. I purchased a Border Patrol Model from them about a year ago and I'm pretty happy with it....The thing is smooth like butter.

There are those that say they are overpriced for a dressed up express....they may be, but I love mine. The thing is rock solid, dead reliable and sexy at the same time.

*Also be sure to take a look at the Remington 870 Police .....many here will agree that it is a great shotgun......

      +1.
Get a used (read beater and cheap) 870 somewhere. Send it to Wilson for one of their packages. You will save, get teh shotgun YOU want and the shotgun will be shipped back to your door.

For that kinda money you should also consider a 870 Police and send it to Vang Comp for a workover.

Please don't waste your money on a Wilson shotgun. All they do is take a Remington Express, add some off the shelf parts and paint it green. For the money they want for their guns you can put one together yourself and have a good amount of money leftover to buy a good amount of ammo.

Wilson combat 870's are way over priced and over rated. I mean they dont even add a metal trigger assembly The armor tuff finish they use is really KG- Gun Kote which ive heard bad stuff about.

I suggest you buy a 870P and put the stuff you want on it.

Reed's Indoor Range in Santa Clara advertises dealing in Wilson firearms.
..unknown if any are in-stock, though.

Wilson Combat's website has a dealer-locator function, too, where you can enter your ZipCode and find a dealer within a certain radius.

You'd be better off buying a police model Rem 870 and having Vang Comp or some other shotgun smith work it over into something similar.

Personally I would just get it and leave it alone. Maybe some ghost rings...and some spraypaint...and a laser!!! Still cheaper than wilson.

I know they have a pistol or two from Wilson there.
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

I'm already getting a Mossberg with Van workover but I like to get things in pairs, as a backup.

For instance, I have 2 22LRs (one Walther and one Sig) 2 Makarovs (one FEG, one Bulgarian) 2 nines (one HK P2000SK and getting a Beretta this weekend) and 2 SKS (Romanian and Albanian) and a 10/22.

I just like the idea of reliability and having a backup or alternative, which is why I regretted getting the Mosquito in the first place but was happy I had the P22ca to take to the range last weekend.
