It's not on sale anymore, but Turner's alway's have similiar deals.

I handled that in the store, it points great, and the pistol grip was very comfortable. And, it looks cool like a 870, because it IS a cool 870.

It's $529 right now at Turners, which is the same price as the FN Tactical Police Shotgun w/ C-More sight-

Then it is more expensive than the FN TPS w/o C-More sight-

      Winner-
      FN TPS.

FN Tactical Police Shotgun is a tricked out Winchester 1300 pump which Winchester discontinued. FN Tactical Police Shotgun is too high in price compared to Remington pumps. Most of the threads I've read state that the TPS has unfavorable recoil with heavier loads. The kick is probably due to the telescoping stock.

i think the FN TPS is the baddest (in a good way) looking shotguns, BUT how much would the guys at the trap range laugh if i tried shooting clays with it? mainly for HD though.
          Please, calm down.

I was speaking with a customer yesterday (a law enforcement officer in Texas) and he swears up and down that our High-tube AR stock systems actually improve felt recoil (because the stock is in-line with the barrel). We've heard this before a number of times, but this was the first time anyone was as emphatic about it.

With the FN TPS and Mesa Tactical and Cavalry Arms set-ups, the stocks are straight back against your shoulder, rather than coming down at an angle as with traditional comb stocks or the Armstech AR adapter. We suspect this arrangement improves perceived recoil.

I'm partial to my Mossy 500, 8-shot 20"bbl pump. I know I certainly wouldn't want to be on the business end of it.

my only pump is the winchester 1300, although i wouldn't have any qualms about adding an 870 or mossberg 590.

for coolest looking...this is all a matter of opinion, but the benelli nova could get the nod for the < 400 category. add another hundred to your budget, and you can also take a look at HK's Fabarm FP6.

not sure you'll find too many willing to be on the business end of any pump.

I actually picked up one of the Remington 870 Tacticals about a year back. They're extremely evil looking, hold TONS of ammo (heck the extension is longer than the barrel LOL!), and you gotta dig the green parkarized finish !

I bought a C&R Remington Model 11 awhile back- recoil operated semi auto. I got it for $80 or so, put maybe another $30 into it (extended mag tube, recoil pad), and made a 'tactical' shotgun for about $110.

It works well, and feels much like a Benelli, with slightly softer recoil (whole barrel recoils back on firing, like a cannon).

FN TPS is based on a discontinued shotgun.

Winchester Model 1300 no longer made in New Haven manufacturing facility which closed:

Effective March 31, 2006 the New Haven manufacturing facility will stop manufacturing the Winchester Model 70, Model 94 and Model 1300.

Is the Winchester Model 1300 still produced in another Winchester facility?
