    So close!!! Two 24's today!!

Today was a beautiful day for trap. I went to the concord range and did my thing. I shot two 24's a 21 or 20, then with the 410 I got 15. My first 24 I was on the last station and I started to get nervous. I missed bird 23!! I couldn't believe it!! The nerves got to me. It was an easy shot and I shot behind it. My other 24 I missed bird 8... It was another easy shot and I just got ahead of myself. Oh, these are the first 24's I've had in ten years. I recently started shooting trap again sometime last summer. But I've been shooting as much as possible the last couple months. I really want to shoot my hat lol

Good shooting! It will come. Just keep at it. I am still hunting the elusive 25 and still hunting the 24 as well. Just started shooting shotguns very recently. I shoot pretty consistently in the 20's and have hit 23 a few times now. I know it's only a matter of time before 24, and wouldn't be surprised to pass 24 and hit 25.

    Good job!

A pair of 24s... noting wrong with that. Well done!!!

A couple of 23s for me today, then a 21. Finally a 15 at the end of a long day with a gun I rarely shoot anymore followed up by 21 with my usual gun. This is what I get for shooting more after teaching a couple of brand new shooters. Overthinking leads to misses.

Big deal. I have busted 24 out of 100 several times. So what?.......... wait, you are talking about 24 out 25, right. Damn good shooting. You'll get that 25. I won't, but I bet you will.

Ya, I just didn't want to choke like I did. I had butterflies in my stomach and everything. It's ok though, it'll come. Just gotta wait for the weekend and then I'm good to try again. The last couple of weeks I've been in a groove though. I have been practicing with a .410 and I feel like I've become a better shot because of it.

I know the feeling but if I get one more 24, I'm gonna scream!

                          Congratulations on some good shooting!

Yes it will come. How you'll break through is by observing two simple rules....

                            * Do not think at all about your score while you are in the round. Don't count targets. Don't think "just five more, just four more". Just focus on breaking each target.

                            * Wear your very best cap.
