Thanks for the clarification. I'll be seeing you guys Thursday. Your boss has been holding my USP for me.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. .. and here my buddy was riding (observing) me shooting skeet last weekend. I am SO mentally trained to keep my finger off the trigger, I wasn't even on it until I called PULL.

He actually had a good point and I adjusted, but I wouldn't even have noticed if he had not said anything.

        But, yeah ...

I would shop there simply because the owner gave a damn about his employees and made one of them a very happy man by giving him something he has been wanting. Also, the young man is now understanding why the guys corrected him on the trigger issue and is taking it as he should. Also, for California a $45 ffl transfer fee is very rare. Seems like shops would do them for only the state fees to get people in there. A client of mine tried to get a place to do one on his AI&P Tactical I am building for him and they would not do it because they sell Remington 870's. Jerks, they don't sell the ones I build, Hans builds or Wilson Builds so F'em. If they were not *** holes they would do the tranfer and maybe would be able to sell a gun case, ammo or other items while he is in there. IN FACT HE IS IN THE SAN DIEGO AREA AND I AM E-MAILING HIM THE NAME OF THAT PAWN SHOP AFTER I POST THIS.

So here is a Pawn Shop with the right attitude and some guy says he will not shop there. Bet they will still be there even without your business.

Serbian, it sounds like you were able to take some bashing and our constructive criticism on a serious matter like a man, I respect that.

I'll come check out your shop sometime. Tell us a little about what all you have there; are the guns strictly ones that people have pawned, or do yo have new stuff as well?

Accessories? I'm shopping for a light for my new handgun, do you have any surefires or streamlights?

The guns we have here are all used. Some are very lightly used. We get new stuff in almost every day. As for the light, no we dont, the only accessory we have is a aimpoint red dot.

Nice gift! Everyone needs to ease up and be happy for the OP, it's Christmas and no fish or other spiritual life-forms were harmed during the taking of that photograph.

It goes without saying that when handling a weapon you need to exercise proper safe handling procedures.

It is a different thing while taking photos, filming movies, etc. where the conditions of the environment are preset. Keep in mind I mean preset as in making doubly sure that all weapons are cleared and safe in the immediate setting of the photo shoot.

I'm not saying it's ok to run around the house playing mall ninja with your loaded firearms irresponsibly, or walking around with your minicam doing random vids around the house. I am well aware of the "it's always loaded" philosophy, but if you are knowingly doing a photo shoot or video for the sake of demonstration or art and have safety checked the weapon on the spot first, then if you want your finger on the trigger for those purposes then go ahead.

It is no different than doing a youtube video demonstrating proper trigger techniques or showcasing a newly purchased firearm. This is exactly why people ALWAYS do the safety check physically whenever doing a demonstration on the video, even if they never even touch the trigger.

They do it because they want to be sure its cleared, of course, but they mainly do it visibly in their videos just to satisfy the trigger police instead of simply stating "The weapons were cleared prior to shooting the video".

I think that there's always a bunch of people lurking about the forums ready to pounce out and be the trigger discipline police, and they can be overzealous.

At most I'd expect a comment such as "I am assuming you have cleared the weapon before this demonstration" or some other reminder. But when every post is a comment about his trigger discipline, we've moved away from the point of the post and essentially hijacked the thread. The inflammatory remarks such as hoping the TS shoots himself are rude and uncalled for.

It's probably safe to say that a disclaimer "the weapon has been cleared prior to taking this photo, with the finger on the trigger being for emphasis only" would diffuse most of the comments, and if I were to post a similar photo I would do so.

Don't take what I'm saying as trivializing proper trigger discipline and firearms safety, as they are paramount. But you don't need to have thirty people saying it in the same thread while being rude about it and hoping for someone's untimely demise.

There's being safe, and then there's going overboard just to prove that you're such a better firearms handler than someone else.
