Guys did all this back in the early SOF 3gun days, seems it was the fastest firing shotgun until the FN/Browning/Winch. in stock form. If you google you can find PEKs article with the split times. Supposedly the Benelli can be outrun by someone with a quick trigger finger and that's why they lighten the carrier on the compet. guns, although I haven't done it yet.

I haven't been able to find aftermarket tactical parts for an A-5. Did the 3 gun'rs back in the day have a source or made their own stuff?

If you can remember all of the different names it has been made under, you can cruise Gunbroker and pick them up for a song. I grabbed one last year that had been professionally refinished for $250. The thing looked brand new. Nobody bid on it because it clearly stated that it had been refinished, and had a scope mounted on it. I popped the scope off once it arrived, and had the next best thing to a new gun. The deals are out there. Just watch under the other names.

Considering I just found out about it's original name, can you suggest a reference?

(ETA: other then the wikipedia page I posted above, of course...)

I've written up my ongoing adventures as I learn to hunt.

Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.

I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.

I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.

I heard that the 870 shares the same threads for the extension tube or cap on the a5. A spacer will need to be made to take up the gap for the foregrip. I think somebody on here did it and it looked sweet. I am tempted to do it too. Other than the chokes, I am not sure what else is needed for 3gun. Maybe a velcro side saddle to top it off and you are set.

Like the classics, especially round knobs.
Have a couple of old Winchesters model 12's and a 97 all takedowns.

I have a belgium a-5 magnum 20. Dad bought it for me in 1970. 26" went rib barrel, full choke, gold trigger, 3"mag. Happiest 10 year old kid you ever saw. still have owners manuel and thick soft leather case. Should I keep it or sell it ? Lot of memories

I love my Belgium A5 Magnum in 12 Ga. I've held a 20 once, nice and light it would make a fast shot gun. Check out this Video...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKWknoTR3Pg

Great video! Had no idea they were making a new A5. Thanks
