Why convert Saiga 12s?

Why do so many Saiga 12s get converted to AK configuration? If you want a pistol grip, wouldn't something like this work as well?

I thought about doing that.

However, you still need to make it 922r compliant.
Also, having the pistol grip so far back makes the gun very difficult to handle for people who don't have incredibly long arms.

Gotcha on the long arms part. I have long arms. But Lucy here at the office doesn't have long arms at all and she thought it was very comfortable.

The balance is off and the trigger isn't as good. More parts as well that aren't f original design.

IBAKP....I have one on a Siaga, my kid has no problem. Its not quite as authentic and some look down at the set up..

It is a less involved conversion. With CA shotgun AW laws you have a maglock with any configuration, so you may as well have the PG.

I used the ACE rear trunnion block that leaves the trigger group where it is at for the stock S12. Then I added the saw grip and ACE wire stock. If I moved the trigger group forward it would shorten the shotgun about an inch.

more like a restoration of a bastardization.
