Ithaca 37 is tha shiznit. Accept no substitute. Unless you have one and want to sell it because you prefer an 870. In that case, PM me and I'll take it off your hands for cheap...

I have shot shotguns, as a lefty for years, pumps and semi's, and never had an issue with them, so I wouldn't let that change what you are going to buy.
Jobs I have had, payed for by your tax dollars:
        -Sandbag-filler who carries around a 203
        -Sandbag-filler who carries around a 249
-Sandbag-filler who carries around a radio
-That guy, who when given a single, normal M4, hides in the Bradley, and sleeps.

I have a 60s vintage ithaca m37 featherlite that I love, the action is super smooth it is quick to load, great gun, I plan to get one of their defense guns in the future.

I shoot left as well (bad right shoulder) though I'm right handed normally. I'm a shotgun newby, but I had no problems shooting my new Mossberg 500 left handed. The shells don't hit me in the face or anything. The controls of the Mossberg are ambi as well. The safety is a "tang safety" just slide if forward for "fire".

With a pump gun, you control when the shell ejects, so it's not going to surprise you or anything.

I'm a lefty and have no problem with my Mossberg 500. I prefer it to the Remington because of the top mounted safety. The shell ejection won't be a problem, it happens so fast and your face is far enough from the port that its a non-issue IMO.

As energetically as Ithaca 37's eject their empties, all you'd have to do is tip the muzzle up to near vertical before ejecting the spent round. If the perp was still standing after the first shot, just eject the spent shell into his face and knock him *** over teakettle.....

The Swiss have not had to fight for 400+ years. Why? They have mandatory laws to keep military equipment in their HOMES WITH AMMO (and were talking automatic weapons baby) and TRAIN, THEN QUALIFY QUALIFY! QUALIFY!!!

                          Hi gfmallett,

What i've been finding is that the stock from the gun back in the 60s and early 70s is not the same as what they think it is now . Products from brownells , midway, kickeeze and others have products that are for " ithaca model 37 "

Now i have the featherlight deerslayer ... i'm not sure if that makes a difference in this case but it seems all the current model 37 gear from choate and others fit the current production models.

                          BUT

I'm admittedly green at this . You may be able to just swap all the furniture out no problem as long as they are still using the same single bolt attachment
