    Bottom ejecting home defense?

    Guys,
My nephew is looking for a home defense 12ga pump. Something similar to a Remington 870 or Mossberg 590. He's a lefty so we're thinking that it would be best to find a bottom ejecting action. Any recommendations?

I just found the Ithaca 37 and when looking at Gunbroker.com I see prices in the $700 range for a used and beat up one. I am looking for one with the extended magazine (8 shot).

Wow, I bought mine used for $400 last year.
          I'll take $700!

20" CYL bore barrel, 2 3/4" chamber, 8 shot (7+1) Featherlight Home Defense c. 1985 looks like new.

Question would a bottom eject create a problem with hulls underfoot, if you needed to move forward?

A lefty has an advantage shooting a right handed shotgun. Side saddle reloads with brass up, easier, ejection port, right in plan view. No need for a bottom ejector, unless you want one

Love my Stevens 350 from Big 5 ($269 with 18" and 28" bbl). It has dual action bars and the magazine actually holds 5+1 so it is competitive with the Mossberg.

Ithica 37 all the way. I carried one for 32 years. Great weapon.

I'm a lefty, never had a problem with right handed 870's or Mossbergs. Fitting a left handed safety to the Remington made it easier to use, but it's not really necessary. The Ithaca is pretty nice if you can find one for a reasonable price.

I shoot lefty as well and I awlays shoot right handed long arms. Never been an issue.

Just like everything else specialty, it seems that lefty guns are more expensive.

Ithaca 37 Defense model. The "new" Ithaca Gun company is making 8 shot models with an MSRP of $519 (so you should be able to find one for around $450).

I have 2 and love them.
