+1^^^^^^. 410s are not as forgiving.

          Congratulations on your "shotgun" wedding.

If you get the .22 adapter, you'll need a wooden dowel or a short section of a .22 cleaning rod to remove the fired cartridge from the adapter.

Just got it today, not bad although really dirty. I just did a clean on it, can't wait to buy some ammo and fire away.

First time I ever shot a full round of skeet was with a .410. What a blast that was. I just wish I could find an affordable one just to have for a change of pace. It definitely makes you a more focused shooter because they are very unforgiving. If you aren't on your target, it is gone.

Winchester also makes some nasty home defense loads for the .410. I believe they have three disks and maybe some buckshot. One hit of those would make someone think twice about coming at you.

Have fun and enjoy your new gun!

Guess I feel different. No use for a 410 or a 28 gauge.12 gauge only.I hunt quail and chukar a lot. Also have a one for the self defense thing, that I also use for coyotes.Have a couple friends that use 410 though. In their situations,I understand the use. They live in rural areas plagued with ground squirrels. The neighbors do not seem to mind the 410 being shot in the areas.I had a 410 when I was a kid for shooting grouse in the woods.I had no use for it after borrowing my older brother in laws 12 gauge.I was 11.The recoil to this little kid was worth a lot more birds hitting the ground.

Now putt these hot defense loads in a 16 or 18 or longer barrel and there potential goes way upp. Secound and third shot - follow up blasts - the recoil would be perfect out of a full sized pump shot gun or semi auto.

I always thought the 410ga snake charmer was a handy gun.

I do not think you made a Bad Decision. Get it home and then take it out and shoot it.

Did you say what EXACT gun you gott ?????

Actually you can get the Taurus Judge here. It requires going the NFA AOW route, but you can do it. OC Armory is one that imports them. I think their price was $740. I'm getting one...or two.[/threadjackover]

Again, congrats and give us some updates on how you think it shoots.
