    I like green
    [IMG][/IMG]

but now I want to do 3gun with it or have to get the 1100. Shot it once and I really like it.
    Godspeed to my HCS brothers.

HD shotgun 18" barrel and the rest stock. Slings are a bad idea for HD turn out the lights and start moving around the house and when the sling hangs up on something you'll get rid of it. Or if you are wearing it and god forbid you get close to your attacker he could own you with your gun tied to you.

Side saddle???? just how many rounds do you plan on firing? If you have a mag tube your gun should hold 6 plus 1. If you haven't gotten it done in 7 shots you're over. But a couple of extra isn't a bad thing and the side saddle is cheap.

I don't like the lock on some of the new Remmy safetys so I'd change that out for a big head.

Good luck and enjoy your new friend

I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

What is a reasonable price for an 18" barrel?

Extra ammo is NEVER a bad idea, never.

Do you guys actually keep your shotguns with 1 in the chamber? Mine's stored unlocked so I just leave it w/ an empty chamber.

              Not true.

A Semi-automatic shotgun in CA does have "features" that are banned (either a PG or collapsible stock is ok, but not both). There are also a number of named shotguns and a semi-auto with a rotating cylinder or detachable mag is banned, too. However, a pump-action is free and clear.

I bet you can pick up a 18" barrel on gunbroker for cheapo. That's where I would look first.

Good luck and nice choice on your G21

More 870's from N. Co, San Diego including my green one. I sometimes "untactical" it down to no mag extension because it makes the gun so fast and handy.

                subtle mods:
-wilson big button safety and got rid of the j-lock.
-tapped for chokes, usually sporting an extended screw in mod choke.
-the spectre buttstock shell loop deal.
                - A police model mag extension clamp with an actual sling stud pin (express sg's don't have a pin there for some reason)
                - a plastic remington oem corncob fore end (shown in top photo)
                - that's it- keeping it basic.
here it is with all the stuff-->

lastly, here is a prototype sidesaddle shell holder I never could get to work right:

I should have specified. A Knoxx stock is OK for the shotgun in question, a 870 pump. Sorry about that.

To a question before: I do not personally keep one in the chamber, but again, my 870 is not my primary HD weapon. I do keep one in the chamber of my G21 which resides 3 feet from my bed in a Gunvault.

This is what I put together after lots of research. Things I kept in mind:

-Slings can get caught on things.
-Pump action is more reliable than semi-auto.
-An integrated light that is easy to operate is better than fumbling with a flashlight.
-Shells attached to the stock will help you remember to bring the shells.
-Pistol grips are for fully auto and they transfer too much energy to the shooters wrists.
-Anything you modify on the gun has a potential to not fit and or function properly; keep it as simple and as stock as possilbe.
-Don't spend too much money on a gun that will (hopefully) never get used.

I would recommend the speefeed II stock
wilson combat 2 shot magazine extension (no clamp required)
I find buttcuffs are better than side saddles. They seem to balance the gun better putting more weight closer to your body, especially if your going to be holding it on target for any length of time. Oh yes and rifle sights at a minimum and ghost rings if you like them.

It's a shame those guns are so great looking. Doesn't that mean they don't get out much?

On mine? well... one of them is an unfired safe queen, but the green one has been in the rain and generally dropped and bumped (it still looks good though). The other wingmaster is used weekly. I already cracked the buttstock and found a replacement since I took that pic. so yes and no on the "getting out much".
