No. A S12 receiver is thicker, and many dimensions are different.

I'm not one for semi-auto shotguns,though the tube fed variety does have a more established reliability record.

And it doesn't have a magazine that can get snagged on something or prevent prone position firing (if needed).

Nothing against those that like the S-12's,I just don't find them to be all that useful for up close stuff,sure it's cool that the mag can be dropped and swapped like a California housewife,but other than that is it really worth the same money that could be used on a mini-14 or mini-30 ?

there might not be any parts kits now, but if the market for complete guns dried up, I could see them offering parts kits of brand new parts. you might have to have the barrel US made, but they could probably import most of the other parts.

yup, I even called AK-builder to see if he had an S12 flat available. the answer was no, and no plans to make one.

Nice vid but the reload technique shown isn't very useful outside of the competition fields (unless the immediate threat is down),if you notice the weapon was off the shoulder the guy didn't stay focused on any other threats.

The best thing to do if you need to reload is to keep the shotgun mounted to your shoulder and your full attention down range toward any threat(s), use your support hand to grab shells and load them into the magazine (you might have to feel your way a bit but it's better than getting tagged by an unseen threat during a reload)

The Muzzle stays down range and on any threats that may show themselves while you're reloading.

I watched the video,yes the other guy loaded faster but he was still more focused on loading the shells than keeping his firearm up and ready for any other targets.

I have 2 s-12 saigas. I got them because I knew eventually the government would not want me having them. They are awesome shotguns.

I had seriously been considering getting one of these for the last couple of years up until this point. The current market has priced it out of reasonable buying territory in my mind. With a $700 price tag that is starting to approach VEPR territory, at that point I would rather have that then one of these. But as usual the panic buying will continue and drive prices ever higher. My question is, if for some reason these don't get banned/limited will prices ever come down again? I feel like as with anything once prices go up they never tend to come back down. If that is the case I will just get me a good pump shotgun and put more range time in.

man i'd almost consider selling my Saiga 12 for $700... as far as POU as a home defense weapon, with current laws the 10rd limit and required magazine lock erode some of the benefits. I can get an 8rd mossberg and reload on the fly if I run out. it can't fire as fast is the drawback, but how the hell am I going to be able to find some tool in the dark to press onto the saiga mag release???

well I don't know about the rest of you but my S-12 is a range toy and just enjoy shooting it. As far as HD goes I'm reaching for my cell phone and my M&P with a flash light attached.

So...I keep hearing a rumor that the LAST Saiga 12 shipment to be approved is coming in two months...

...that the atf is REJECTING any and all shipments past that one; and no more are ever to be sent into the USA.

They are supposedly doing this to prep for an impending outlaw of the firearm.

I believe HD is like a three gun meet, so I have an AR pistol, Glock 17, and the saiga 12 all ready to go if I need them in less than 5 seconds. if they get past the peremiter fence, the dogs, and alarm I want to make sure they are going to eat some lead.

Ever try to hit a moving target with a pistol in near dark????? Stick with the shotgun first!! Yes, the BB makes the saiga almost worthless for a reload, so I am hoping an AR finishes the job, and than if that runs out, the glock.
