Magazine tubes welded to the gun, all that's required to change over is throwing a switch, I wouldn't want to be the guy testing that theory in court. Remember, dealers were selling the Taurus Judge and DOJ now states that they are short barrel shotguns. I would want CA DOJ clarification before I bought one.

They be legal because it's two seperate 7 round tubular magazines, not one 14 round tubular magazine.

Same reasoning why taping two 10 round magazines are legal.

They are seperate ammunition feeding devices and require an action to switch from one feeding device to another.

I see what your saying and I hope that they are legal, but in my time, I have seen some DAs that would love to test something like this. It is not the same as taping two mags together, you do not have to physically remove one mag to load the other and both magazines have rounds in position to fire. I just see this as a grey area that could be a problem. I hope I'm wrong, but better safe than sorry.

The Neostead shotgun has a 3-position switch to govern left, right or both tubes feeding alternately and this would without question be considered a single "large capacity feeding device." But the KSG feeds only 7-rounds left or 7-rounds right, not both, so even an aggressive DA would not want to try out a "large capacity feeding device" argument in court on this one.

It's no more risky than an OLL. The manual switch over between mag tubes can and would be compared to changing magazines in any other firearm. It would have nothing to do with the amount of effort needed to manually flick the switch and everything to do with the need to manually flick the switch.

Yeah they'll just try to make you stick a bullet button on the switch probably... or some other pain in the @ss device - ha

Don't be surprised if these pre-order prices are less than what you will be actually paying once the shotguns are available. Final pricing on the KSG has not yet been established and the $880 price is the "expected MSRP" that Kel-Tec was displaying at SHOT Show.

Trickster - so what happened with the Taurus judges if you got one registered before ruled as SB shotgun? My guess is they never made CA DOJ list which means it was a little more black & white than this. I am guessing this is fine to have per CA's AWs laws, a little gray but that is sometimes the best color for black guns.

The Judge wasn't on the list, but was being sold to LEO's by some dealers as a "off roster" handgun.

I see. So were LEOs grandfather in by so forgiving California or told to file SB paper work or get out of state?

I was told a couple weeks ago from a local gun shop owner that it will be OK in Ca. The reason being is it has two seperate magazines. So that makes it like an AR or even a GSG-5 with a double mag holder. It can only feed from one mag at a time so it should be like an extra mag on board. So, it should be OK in California!!

I would ask your local shop owners to see for yourselfs... What could it hurt?

Everyone is going to buy these and is not an accurate comparison to the judge. These are good to go, I will have one along with the masses!
