Hey guys, I'm new to this site and was wanting to to know about converting the saiga 12. Can I add a collapsible stock and pistol grip and other 922r parts to the shotgun to make it ca legal. Also if any ones got pictures of their converted saiga 12's I would love to see their mods.

You can't have a collapsible stock and a pistol grip on a semi auto shotgun.

You can't have a collapsing or folding stock on a semi-auto shotgun in CA, but you can have a pistol grip and fore grip as long as the shotgun has a maglock (and that's the only way Saiga-12's make it into CA.) Check out that flowchart ^^^^ for more in-depth info.

Here's a pic of mine - not converted yet, but still very comfortable and fun to shoot. I purposely made it big and obnoxious, because I think it's funny - it sure does turn some heads.

Converted generally means moving the trigger group forward so it's right up against the mag release. To do it right, you gotta Dremel out some welds replace some of the trigger group components, get a different maglock, remove parts, re-paint, etc. If you look closely you'll see that the whole trigger group on mine is towards the back of the rifle, because I just used a drop-in piece that allows the ACE stock and an AK grip to attach to it. I have long arms, so for me this is completely comfortable - but for some, it can be kinda awkward, I guess...

You might want to check your facts before making dipsh*t comments like that. It actually uses an extremely solid, external receiver block (metal, not plastic) that has an ACE stock attached to it. The whole setup is far sturdier than the TAPCO intrafuse stock that you mentioned.

I've got to say those drop in stocks actually make the gun uglier than the sporting configuration. I am disturbed every time I see them. Bastard to bastard conversion, make them look the way they were meant!

An idea I had would be a removable stock, it would easily meet OAL requirements. While not ideal this is CA and we do horrible things to not be felonious.

Also worth mentioning, there is no capacity limit on the fixed mag as with center-fires. So if you were to legally obtain "hi-caps", you could legally use them.
