30 MPH Wind + Skeet and Trap

Now that was a kick in the pants....the clays were out of control. Some actully stopped dead in the air at mid field and started flying backwards...Targets going with the wing were gone baby

On the Trap range....the targets were making hard right turns and the left targets would go left for 10yds and the go right.

No such thing as an easy target today

Boy the way Glen Miller played, songs that made the hit parade, guys like us we had it made, those were the days, and you know where you were then, girls were girls and men were men, mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again, didn't need no welfare states everybody pulled his weight, gee our old Lasalle ran great, those were the days!

Ilion Gun Club is set up on the edge of a hill and the wind dominates the day. Last time I was there I busted a dismal 15 out of 50 because of that wind. And that is my story and I am sticking to it.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

I was out at Ben Avery for a Zone shoot once and the targets were pretty much flying how you described. The wind was so blowing so hard I'd get on station and get off immediately. The wind had blown me off !!!

You think that's bad? Try Oaktree on a windy day!

At Valley of the Moon the wind sometimes comes across the farmlands like an express train.... makes for very interesting shooting. Clays are like golf in that respect, you have to learn how to work with the wind.
