    Semi-Auto 12 Guage

    I already have a Mossberg 500 pump.

    I got the itch for a Semi-Auto 12 guage.

    What do you guys like?

Im thinking of a Benelli M4 if I feel like buying something expensive, but I just keep looking at the Saiga 12 since it just seems kinda cool and a good value. I like pistol grip with a stock over the traditional stock.

Would you trust a Saiga 12 in a HD role?

    Any recommendations?

I don't own a Saiga 12, but I own other Saigas and would not hesitate to use a Saiga 12 in a HD role. You'll be slightly limited with the mag lock, but if you can't stop a threat with 10 shotgun shells, then nothing can help you.

I like saiga's alot. For home defense I use a pump, but I have and love my Remington 1100 competition master. 8+1 super fast, great hiviz sights and no stigma.

          +1 for the Saiga-12 I love mine.

I'd love to hear the reason you'd trust a saiga 12 more than a benelli M4.

get the benelli m4!!! I love mine!

Benelli's are known for the speed and reliability. Before that very first shell hit the ground after you opened fire, you already finished shooting all the shells that were loaded.

I really like the benelli, felt it would also be the most reliable. I would really love a 10 round capacity incase SHTF.

Get the Mossberg 930 SPX tactical. Its half the cost of the Benelli M4 and almost as good, nothing beats the Benelli M4 though but it may be overkill for HD. The Saiga is good and reliable but its more like a Mac truck vs the Benelli's Ferrari. If money is no object then hands down get the Benelli, its smooth and fun to shoot. You can buy almost 4 Saiga 12's for the price of one Benelli M4. I'm not sure but I heard the M4 is banned in CA? Can someone clarify that for us?

                      Just wondering...

Has anyone tried shooting trap or skeet using a Saiga 12 haha?

If the shottys ever going to be used for sport would you recommend the benelli + a longer barrel for sporting?

There's my semi auto benelli with pistol grip and long barrel. Looks kinda goofy like that. I'll be putting on the regular stock soon.

If not mistaken, the M-4 has a limited capacity of 5. The long magazine tube is crimped off, at least on the ones I looked at. Also the "collapsable" stock was fixed on the sample I checked out. I do own a Benelli M-1 S-90 but it's now a safe queen after years of reliable service, replaced by a superior Mossberg 930 SPX. For $550 you cannot beat the features nor can you beat the fast soft shooting gas operation. Mine works with all loads (7.5 birdshot/Fed LE132 buckshot) light to heavy slugs. The LPA GR sights are about the best SG sights you can get (that's why Benelli has them too) and the fiber optic (adjustable) front sight is fast to pick up. The stock is adjustable for LOP and drop at the comb. You can fit it exactly to you. Does the M-4 offer the shims on the fixed stock PG version?

I have no experience with the Saiga's but I hate the mag lock requirement. Capacity is a big plus however. 10 rounds is an asset even if you have to use a tool to reload. Nobody ever lost a gunfight because they had too much ammo.

So let us know what you get and how you like it. But my vote is 930 SPX

If I could go back in time I would have never bought my 930spx. It has not really done what it said it was supposed to do such as cycle light loads and I have gotten plenty of FTEs.
