I have an 870 that hasn't been cleaned in years, how do I take the barrel apart from the receiver?

if you're not kidding, you unscrew the knurled cap on the end of the mag and the barrel will pull off. i once bought an 1100 that hadn't been touched in 20 years and it took 2 of us to pull it apart but it works the same way

On most pump shotguns, you have to open the action about half way before the barrel will come off.sigpic
