Just got back from the SSA match, after shooting 6 stages of steel targets & birds with shotgun (~160+ rounds total). That's a lot of practice loading while on the clock, what a blast!

What I really want is a SAW that shoots buckshot or slug ammo. May not be a far reaching weapon but it will be devastating in stopping a charge. Especially buckshot.

A blunderbuss is like a shotgun, but so is a tricycle, depending on how broad your terms are.

I was just thinking about how the recoil on my shotgun feels different from all my other longarms, like it's trying to get your attention. Satisfying.

I love shotguns, but.......I wanna shoot this one.

Depends on what you're going with a shotgun, stationary targets and shotguns do nothing for me. Shooting clay on the other hand is awesome!

That thing would be a cool Hollywood movie-gun, but pretty impractical in actual combat. Give me a semi-auto Saiga.

If you have to stop a fight and the opponent is 3 to 15 yards away, there are few better or simpler tools than a 12 gauge. There were really good reasons why the Germans in WW1 were afraid of our guys armed with them, and wanted their use outlawed by the Geneva Conventions, after all.

Shotguns are my favorite guns, but only for moving targets like clays or Pheasants. Shooting a stationary target with one is kinda boring. Flying targets are what shotguns are for.

Nothing quite as diverse as the 12ga; from the lightest plinking loads to the the heaviest magnum loads. There are only a few handgun cartridges anywhere near as diverse in loading. A Rem870 with the shotshells for the occasion = perfection.

In addition to all your other comments, there is nothing like walking into a walmart and having a happy face because they always have 12 gauge shotgun shells!

I love shotguns for a myriad of reasons, but this one would be enough all by itself.
