There is a lot to be said for the stress relief offered by disintegrating a target with a shotgun blast or two.

I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.
As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap. -
I know ... would would ever want to have (AA12) a low-recoil, drum-fed, full-auto shotgun specifically designed to fire all sorts of shells including 3 types of "mini-missles" in combat?

Last time we went camping we cut down an old dead tree with a 12 guage. That was a lot of fun.
Probably not a very cost effective way to take down a tree though.

It's the drum fed thing making it impractical, that's a gigantic drum for 25 rounds, how many of those drums can a soldier carry without it slowing him down and and effecting his agility? Sure having multiple rounds to choose from is great, but with that gun that means multiple drums, or having to waste rounds while getting to the ones you're after. Plus that thing is huge! The concept is great, the AA12, not so much.Comment

Or deliver a half-ounce of lead persuasion to an opponent up to 100 yards away, or want to bust through an opponent's "cover" up to 50 yards out, or want to switch from lethal to effective less-lethal ammunition in seconds... the shotgun is an incredibly effective and incredibly underused weapon. If you have to stop a fight and the opponent is 3 to 15 yards away, there are few better or simpler tools than a 12 gauge. There were really good reasons why the Germans in WW1 were afraid of our guys armed with them, and wanted their use outlawed by the Geneva Conventions, after all.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment

What I like about my shotgun is the versatility of it. With the ability to switch between the 28 inch and 18 inch barrel in about 2 minutes I can go from shooting clays/birds to a self defense or more suitable "brush gun".Comment

These be true as well.... well stated!Or deliver a half-ounce of lead persuasion to an opponent up to 100 yards away, or want to bust through an opponent's "cover" up to 50 yards out, or want to switch from lethal to effective less-lethal ammunition in seconds... the shotgun is an incredibly effective and incredibly underused weapon.

Hi all, I want to see who else agrees, there is nothing like going to the range or out in the desert and emptying your magazine tube filled with 12 gauge birdshot, buck shot whatever it is who else agrees? I have not been shooting that long and consider myself a beginner but I see in the future I'll be a part of this shooting sport for a lifetime.
I love shooting my shotguns too!! If you like to empty them quickly, i think shotguns like the Saiga or Benelli are sooo much fun.Comment

Especially fun when shooting steel at distance. That sound as it flies then "ping"! And the reduced recoil slugs that almost look like mortar rounds, lol...Originally posted by GB88Nothing beats a 12 ga semi.
The best though is shooting slugs at 100 yds with just beads for sights.Comment
