any telescoping one they have? where to get limb saver or just be fine with the buffer recoil thing?

I would love to get the LEO stock kit with hydraulic recoil buffer and put a Magpul CTR or ACS stock on it. That would give you all the recoil reducing you need and still give you functionality and cool looks!

The recoil really isnt that bad. Remington makes the super cell recoil pad, I have shot one with it, and it feels easier on the shoulder. The bead you have is plenty of a sight, I have read more bad things with the ghost ring sights, and you have to send it to a Gun Smith. If I where you, I would throw on a TacStar Side saddle. Depending on which forend you have, you may not be able to put on the 6 shot holder, you may have to stick with the 4 shot. people have mixed feelings on slings, most people will tell you to stay away because it may get caught on something, or someone can drag you, with that said, my 870 is within arms reach of my bed. Nothing it can get caught on, and I can grip onto that, if someone is close enough to you, to grab your firearm and drag you, you did something wrong. Throw on a light, to use at night, because if your going to use it as you HD, and want a good grip, there wont be an extra hand for your flashlight.

Why not send it to Hans Vang and get it done right? The question is 5150, do you want a functional defensive shotgun or a "cool looking at the range gun"?
If it's the later, then grab a couple of cataloges and let your budget be your guide, but there is a lot of crap out there that you just don't need on a shotgun, but would appeal to keyboard "ninjas" looking to take out a battalion of zombies. I only know this because I have a box of crap I've taken off my guns when I finally dedicated a gun to a purpose.
Additionally if the gun is a dedicated 3 gun SG then there are things specific to that sport that you should have that you shouldn't on a defensive firearm.
So decide it's purpose, then have fun building the right gun for the job.
IMHO a SG needs:
Spare ammo holder on the buttstock or sideaddle. NO sling ammo holders.
An LED light source on the gun.
A simple carry strap type sling (you can detach in the home)
Sights are your choice: Bead (my preference) Ghost ring (with trijicon insert) or rifle type sights. No optics needed.
Extended magazines tubes: Only from the manufacture or Vang or Mesa.
That's it. If you compete you may need to add as your sport requires.

Good grief Charlie Brown. Go to www.shotgunwold.com to the Tactical Forum as those clowns are in to all that mess. They can tell you all kinds of ways to junk up a shotgun and they know all the "Super Cool, really far Out" Ninja stuff to put on your shotgun.........You would feel right at home.

What I did to my 870...

Here is what I did to my 870. Just finished putting it together a week ago so I haven't had the time to try it out in the current configuration.

-Rem 870 w/mag extension
-Surefire forend light
-Mesa Tactical 6-shell side saddle
-Mesa Tactical LEO stock adapter
-ERGO Grip (had to cut it some for it to fit)
-Endine Shot Shot buffer (it is a big spring not hydraulic)
-Magpul ACS w/enhanced butt pad
-Burris Speed Bead (it is a Fastfire with a shotgun mount)
-Vang Comp oversized safety

I bought most of the stuff from tacticalshotgunner.com

Best upgrades you can do are:

1. Mesa Tactical side saddle
2. Vang Comp big dome safety OR Scatterguns oversized safety

And possibly a Surefire forend depending if its a house gun or not. Anything else is just ninja accesories IMO.

What are you going to do with it?

I have a Surefire LED on mine but it's a bit bulky. If I did it again I'd put a rail mounted light on it and take off the light when you go to the range.

Mesa Tactical shell holders are fantastic quality, buy those you won't be disappointed.

Ghost rings aren't necessary unless you will be shooting slugs at some greater distance. (+50 yards)

Stock furniture works great but if it doesn't have a recoil pad buy one.

Buy a clay pigeon thrower and head out to the desert. 200 rounds of birdshot and 200 clays are only about $70

I want to use it for HD and range gun. I dont, i am mean dont want to junk it up.

so maybe change foregrip for light......, or rail mounted light.....suggestions on that maybe?

recoil pad and adjustable stock would work too. maybe side saddle for ammo, but maybe not since there will be 7+1.

I will leave bead sight for now.

where would you get the rail mounted light? that is what I would want to do is have it on than take it off. want to keep it simple for most part.

More than a few companies make a bolt on rail that attaches either on the forearm or on the barrel/mag tube. Then any firearm light will bolt straight up from $25-250. You can use a light mounted switch or a forearm mounted pressure switch, usually attached with velcro.
